Morning :)

I was chatting to the Twitter handler last night about my current issue.

Before switching to the Afrigreen account, my Email Outgoing Address, smtp.uls.co.za which is universal, was working both via wifi and cellular. After switching to the new account, I cannot send any emails with the Afrigreen account active.

Thanks,
Nick

Then why can't you roll out a PoC in Cape Town? It would make everyone's international latencies lower, since you guys terminate in Cape Town/London?

The main reason why this isn't practical is that we would then need to duplicate any and all changes we make to each of the IPCs and network management software then. We really did consider it, but it would have increased the timeline dramatically for roll-out. This way we can be as thorough as we need to be, then we will simply duplicate the software to the South and East once we are ready to roll-out.

This would be because the IP block in use is not recognized by ULS

My experience on the test network has been pretty good. I can stream 1080p on youtube with hardly any issues. Every now and again it's a bit slow, had a few issues where my connection just dropped. But after rebooting my router it was smooth sailing again.

This is indeed the case! :)

I've already asked our Team to reach out to ULS to make sure that our IP-range is added and verified as a valid source of traffic.

Youtube buffering on 480p. Trying to watch TI5 replays here.

:(

Seems we've been having issues with TI5 in general and streaming to the event. Is it just the TI5 videos buffering, or are you seeing issues with all Youtube content?

I just started using my POC details I received yesterday and my download jumped from 350kB/s to full 1.0MB/s, I like what I see thus far.

That's good to hear! We still need to do a bit of work on AfriGreen, so if you notice any issues or bugs, please let us know!

Seems to be confined to the TI5 videos at the moment. Twitch I haven't tried yet but in the past week it goes from buffering every 30-40secs then being perfectly fine on Medium settings.

Twitch.tv has been very up and down for me as well. We're definitely working on optimizing Twitch.tv so that it is actually usable.

I'm wondering if the content on the official dota2 Youtube Channel isn't be loaded from the local cache server. I'll ask our Team to look into this as well.

Would you mind running a quick traceroute to Youtube.com please, let's make sure you are being routed to the local cache.

I think there are issues with the TI5 streams in general. Even in DOTA TV there seems to be lag spikes. Twitch buffers every 30 - 40 seconds, but only tried the Dota stream. Will try other streams and see how they fare.

Would be nice if this was sorted before the finals on the weekend... :(

Thanks for the update!

DNS looks to be resolving to the correct place. Could you run a traceroute to it please.
