Aside from that one spike, looks pretty decent to me. Can you try a continous MTR test?

using filezilla looks like it resumed just gotta make sure its 100% fine as its a rather important backup :P

Definitely - don't want to have a compromised back when you need to roll back to it. Let me know if you come right. is the server hosted by us?

Here's an idea: get in touch with the mods on MyBB here and make a time for an AMA with Gian. Have the mods watch the thread (just like Reddit does) and have a cleaner Q&A thread for discussing the ins and outs of your work to resolve ongoing issues. Appearing on MyBB with his original thread that ballooned quickly because it wasn't moderated was indeed madness. Keep it to between two to three hours long. Once its done, lock the thread and ask a mod for a sticky for about a month or so so that people can find it easily.

So long as you enter into the AMA with firm rules about discussions in the thread and keep it to a Q&A process, you should have a much better time getting your points across and addressing any specific concerns people have about Afrihost's future, or anything else related to it.

This is a fantastic idea.

Nah OVH, got hinky when you guys ran your update. am just redownloading it to make sure :P

I got the same issue late night when i tried to join the same server as you, I have reported it on Afrihost's clientzone, waiting to get some feedback on it. I had to change back to my normal Afrihost account to join the server

Any update on this issue? This is the only issue right now that is keeping me off on afrigreen network

Hi

PPTP VPNs (TCP/1723) are still very slow.

Also noticed Whatsapp Messenger is very slow / times out often.

(JHB LINE - 4Mb uncapped business)

General feedback on afrihost green after trying it for a bit,

Each of these was run on a generally quiet line

On an 20Mbps line

Youtube is a massive improvement HD streaming works well
Playstation network very slow to update applications around 1Mbps max dropping to around 200-500 Kbps 10 gigs around 2 days 200 Meg software 2.57 patch took over 2 hours
Microsoft network also very slow 37Gig game rated at 99+ hours still after running for 24 hours
Bitcoin wallet sync is running properly at last (24kbs on old network)
nntp good 200-400Kbps
DSTV stream working well
Steam around 2-5Mbps during the day perfectly acceptable
sFTP horrible 200Kbs
Skype and other VoIP works well clear no clipped sound
Similar with video conferencing good performance
iTunes music download slow on desktop / applications on iPhone and iPad much improved from old network but still slowish
Windows update patches etc.. terrible around 5 kbps bursting to around 1Mbps mostly around 5-10kbps

Pinging afrihost.co.za [41.181.185.18] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 41.181.185.18: bytes=32 time=41ms TTL=55

Ping to the UK 200ms which is fine

d/l local Ubuntu over http 15Mbps

Speedtest.net 18Mbs ping 20ms so lower than afrihost.
Domestic VPN performance varies from terrible 20Kbps to awesome only 1 bad time so far, so generally good

Biggest concerns horrible Playstation Network and Microsoft Network online gaming networks and patches as well as slow ftp.

Hey guys

We'll be running a few more tests over the next few mins - there shouldn't be any drops in connection but latency may spike up.

Thanks for the feedback!

Which FTP servers are you having trouble with? Are you seeing poor PSN and MS downloads at all times or has it been limited to specific times?

The Browser-based version of WhatsApp or the version on your cellular devices and tablets?

Do you have Business Optimization enabled or disabled at the moment?
