I am seeing similar, just occasionally, "Web Site Not Available" then it refreshes and loads on its own.

Router is set to obtain DNS addresses from ISP.

Looks like I'm not the only one with that issue. Must be a bigger problem.

I've changed my DNS setting to obtain automatically so will have to keep a look out to see if that's fixed the issue completely or not.

We've seen in the past that our first DNS calls are not as fast as we'd like but you should still see the site. Any patterns you've picked up that might help us link these up?

Maybe list the exact sites which give the issue. There might be something we're missing :(

So far it's been random.

The ones I've seen so far are twitter, gmail, facebook, mybroadband, saix.net haven't really tested or see with other sites.

I just lost all connections there momently.
The Router was up but streams stopped, no sites would load everything dead.
No actual errors, just every Tab showed the loading symbol for a while then came back, the stream had to be restarted manually.

EDIT, no recurrence on http://mybroadband.co.za/ so it could be initial DNS Lookup still.

We'll try all of those to see if we can replicate on our side. Will also see if we can get some troubleshooting advice from the network team on how to figure this out :(

I wonder if we shouldn't run something like BitMeter OS to check if you are losing connection completely intermittently, which means it's not DNS related at all

I am pretty sure this has to do with the changing routes at IPC level like I pointed 3 weekends ago.
Dropping connections and packets. But what do I know, your snotty team just brushed me off.

Cool. Thanks. Normally when I get those error messages if I refresh couple times the site will load but sometimes it can be infuriating and also guess it shouldn't really be happening too.

I don't think that was a permanent issue, but we do have different routing for some local traffic which we're testing to see which is better for the long term implementation of the network.

Definitely infuriating. We'll need to see if we can replicate this :(

Lost it all again, for about 2 min this time. Then it all came back minus the stream. Router shows no loss of connection.

Also had an issue for 30 secs where the router had no internet (the broadband light was still on) about 15 minutes ago.

Now though:
