That is excellent. Must be some improvements in the backhaul (and also helps that you're pinging a Joburg server) :)
 
AfriGreen is still working as it should. I do not suffer any of the ups and downs which affect some of the testers. :)

Afrigreen going perfectly as usual.

Came here to ask a question: Afrihost, when are you going to start offering fibre?! Telkom is one month away from finishing the installation in my area, and as things stand I'm going to have to give notice after the 25th of this month so that I can change ISP from November.

With the new Afrigreen network, a whole new world of possibility is open. :) Good things are coming in the (very) near future... ;)

Hi Slaught3r. That really doesn't sound good at all! Looking at your account I can see an open session for a little over 24 hours not indicating any drops. Are you currently connected via Wifi or LAN?
 
LAN. I switched to Afrivanilla and it seems to have sorted it out. My internet light on the router keeps switching off and then I drop connection to teamspeak and Steam.

Very interesting. I really don't see the drops in your session history. Please send me another PM if it happens again. :)

Decent speedtest result but google play store updates running at 0.3 mbps.

I hope that your very near future isn't more than a few days away from the immediate future, because the fibre options I've seen thus far require a 24 month contract.

Internet seems sluggish again. Seems to happen every night. The issue isn't maximum line throughput but more of a DNS-delay issue. When clicking on a bookmark for example, Chrome will sit showing a blank screen for a few seconds as if it's trying to resolve DNS and then when it finally does the line speed is used properly. This is evident when loading YouTube, clicking a bookmark for YouTube will sit and take a few second and then when it finally starts loading something, the line is used at full speed.

As said earlier it seems like a DNS taking it's sweet time to resolve. This happens on both Afrigreen DNS and Google's DNS which doesn't make sense. As said above, this only happens in the evening.

Interesting observation... :wtf:

It could also be to do with your browsing history or cache. Do you find the same issue on other browsers? Say, Firefox, for example?

I can confirm this in my tests ... there is definitely an initial delay
