Then why buy 51% if they didn't want, and are not, in control ;)

MTN are there as a big brother in the industry, as well as a solid financial backing.
Afrihost still runs the operational side of the business.

@Afriguy

Once of your salesman once said something about "if a business account goes down that they could see if they could work out refunds for those days of none service"

Just how bad does AH/AG have to get before we start getting refunded, cause today again, I can barely use my net and before I start swearing at the representative I am dealing with right now ... ... I figured I would ask

:::EDIT:::

I for one am tired of paying a premium just to get screwed over monthly

The results you've posted here seem a bit more extreme from what's been posted before by others.
Is the same amount of latency there when using your regular account?

Test after switching to regular:

But as I have said, these are intermittent and occurs frequently where I will have bouts of pretty much no internet connectivity as the latency is so bad and the speed of the line drops to nothing. Currently it is actually loading pages but for a capped unshaped account to have had this issue for the last few months is a bit rashing. Especially if you enjoy playing games online.

Any billing disputes need to be done via our Accounts team directly.

That isn't looking good at all. When you see these spikes up in latency again can you grab a traceroute please?

Things are looking much better this this morning, I can actually login into Facebook. And TeamViewer has not dropped yet today. Seems the POC turns into a pumpkin at 6 every night. Have not run any P2P traffic yet today.

The Afrigreen latency reflected here looks quite good.
Could you PM me your DSL username so I can run a few checks from my end?

slytuna, whereabouts do you live? I get the exact same experience.

Sent through a couple of tracerts, but have not heard anything and the experience is ongoing.

No help at all, the accounts person did give out Gian's email saying I should email him.

Am I allowed to post his email here, maybe if we all spam the hell out of him, we could get some real answers

:::EDIT:::

Obviously I am not allowed but it's an enticing option

There needs to be a clear distinction between what is posted on a public forum and either a PM or email. Some conversations are private.
I also feel that wanting to spam Gian's mailbox only hinders everyone else trying to get help via that channel. I'm sorry you aren't happy with your account - but wanting to post email threads/ spam a mailbox really isn't a good approach.

These were the best of the 10 runs on each account ... ... Also, while the AG seems great, the speeds I am getting do not reflect that same sentiment

I know this, which is why I never posted and still said I know I am not allowed.

But find me 1 CEO that cares about 1 email compared to half his user base emailing him about poor service. That was my thinking.

Either way I won't be emailing Gian just to get an automated response.

Gian replies to every mail that reaches him, so it's probably best to mail him and see what the response is. I'm pretty sure it'll be more than an auto response.

AfriGuy I don't want to call you a liar, but I'm 100% that statement not to be true. I've emailed Gain before with a very legitimate complaint about how you guys manage the main website status page. At that stage it was constantly showing green, but things were not running smoothly and was admitted by everyone. I did not even get a response from him.

Afri*. I have to just have my say about the current network issues, because I get frustrated about some of the statements you guys make.

Most of us understand that AfriGreen is a POC network and everything that goes with that. When people complain about it they get the standard response: "It's a POC so things should go wrong. If you have a problem try the MTN one".
The problem is that us as business customers are assisting you, but also doing this out of necessity. Even though you guys state that we can use the MTN network if the POC is giving issues, the MTN network is the main reason we're trying the POC. So we're basically stuck having to hunt from network to network until we find the one working best at that time.

As a customer for me there are very little other options out there. For the price of your business accounts I have not seen any alternative. Obviously when it's not working anything is better, but when it does it's amazing.

Do you see similar latency results?

Not at the moment - I am not at home. It is intermittent and doesn't last long. It usually happens after 6PM. I have posted my tracert results previously on this thread, definitely not going to run tracerts every time it happens, because I will spend my time running tracerts between 6PM and 9PM daily.

I know this should be done to help you guys isolate the problem so you can fix it, but what is 100 tracerts from 100 people going to tell you that 1 tracert from 100 people isn't?

The ping spikes along with the regular DNS errors tells me that there is a routing issue on your network. I do not know a lot about networks and never professed to, but the little I do know is that this seems to be where your issue is. If this happens to me again I will run another tracert (will leave my cmd screen running in the background so I can try and capture it) and post the results here. Again.

After running the tracert I will switch to AfriVanilla (resynch all my devices, again, reset my unotelly, again) and see if it happens again. If it does, I will run a tracert again and post the results here again.
