Afrihost POC Network - Afrigreen Feedback

So.. as we speak im getting 24kbps updating a game on my unshaped uncapped account, for the last few months its been unacceptable during day times, im starting to lose patience with afrihost while waiting for this "afrigreen". Is it going live anytime soon or must i start the shlep of moving to a working ISP ?

Since roughly Monday, any PPTP VPN use is impossible, OpenVPN seemed to be okay though....

EDIT: After power cycling the router they seem to be holding up okay will post if they deteriorate again

Vpn is not good on AG. I complained about it when p2p first started giving issues.
Was told it is due to AG reaching its limit.

I can't give a time cos we're waiting for some last minute info to go ahead. Once we get that, we're full steam ahead

The network hitting capacity would create some issues across multiple services. If we move and the issue goes away, that would confirm

The letter from Gian said we'd be moved over automatically but it doesn't mention if normal uncapped users would use a different backend to the Business one and vice versa? Will the shaping policy change for the business accounts? Will Business Optimization still be available?

Not sure what you mean. We need certain confirmations before the cutover from key stakeholders, we can't proceed until then. I think that makes sense.

The network will be the same for Business and Uncapped, but there will be different rules and policies based on the profile. It will be very similar to the current network - and all the current features are planned to continue as normal.

So the question is: AUP or FUP (Acceptable Usage Policy or Fair Usage Policy) will that come into play? What would be the restrictions on this new network? etc

I don't think any policies will change in that way. We'll still manage uncapped accounts by overall demand on the network, not using thresholds.

Definitely - no plans to change that

They very well might do. If you're currently have DNS set to auto-assign it'll be fine.
