Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

It has started, for existing clients, it may take 4 to 6 weeks.
You do not have to request any package changes for clientzone, these will be backend changes unless communicated otherwise.

Hey @Afrigirl, I have just put a cancellation request in to move from CISP to Afrihost. The termination date is on the 1st of December 2023.

When would be the right time to place my new order with Afrihost to ensure a smooth cut over but also to avoid paying double for this month?

Hello.

For which FNO?

Anyone elses international speedtest.net having low uploads?

My line speed has been increased. Thanks AH and OS
Mine shows as upgraded to new speed in clientzone but is still on the old speed.I presume it will be done in the next few days or so. The email said between November and December.

I'm honestly surprised there has been almost no posts about the speed upgrades, usually when upgrades happens there's someone at 00:01 that posts my speed is still the same has anyone been upgraded yet.

Indeed.

There are more changes to other FNO namely Zoom Fibre and MetroFibre and these changes are live on our website.

For MetroFibre there are now 2 offerings depending on the network in your area.

MetroFibre Nexus which is their existing network and MetroFibre Nova which are new areas MetroFibre are targeting.

Zoom Fibre clients get free double-speed upgrades and a new super low entry-level package.

Zoom Fibre
Zoom Fibre - Afrihost

15/15 - R247 (new package)
10/10 > 30/30 - R447
25/25 > 50/50 - R647
50/50 > 100/100 - R797
100/100 > 200/200 - R947
200/200 > 500/250 - R1097
500/250 > 1000/500 - R1197

These prices are live for new clients and existing clients are getting upgraded soon.

MetroFibre Nexus (Existing network)
20/20 > 25/25 - R497 (package discontinued for new signups. Existing clients get a free upgrade)
50/50 - R797 (Discontinued for new signups. Existing clients can upgrade to the new 75/75)
75/75 - R797 (this is a new package)

MetroFibre Nova (New network areas)
25/25 - R497 (new package)
75/75 - R797 (new package)
no 250Mbps on the Nova network

MetroFibre - Afrihost

It appears my ProtonVPN (using OpenVPN on my router) is either being throttled by AH, or ProtonVPN servers are very slow. I'm only getting 25% of my line speed when connected to the VPN.

I get the same result on all of Proton's South African servers. I get 100% line speed as soon as I disconnect OpenVPN.

Is there anything I can do to remedy the above?

TIA

Additional info:
If I use the ProtonVPN app (which I prefer not to, as I want VPN at router level) I get 50% of my AH line speed.

Still experiencing constant wobbles at 8PM every evening on 169.1.1.2, 168.1.1.4. Yes this does affect DNS over the period.
