Been postingIn general? Specific to my account?
I just got off the phone with support who were less than stellar in terms of what they were able to offer me (which boiled down to essentially, we'll have to see what Frogfoot says).
What I am baffled by is the claim made (in my support call just now) that after days of this FF have not communicated an ETA, nor explanation to Afrihost. How can this possibly be the case?!
An ETA is difficult, fair enough, but for the company being paid to provide and manage my connectivity, I'd hope that the relationship with their supplier might extend to - you know - being allowed to know why things are broken...
I fail to understand or actually accept this response, I have done countless tests with Afrihost and with Frogfoot where both parties admitted on "paper" that there is a persistent issue in the area, it feels that the "individual" testing is just a ploy to play for time. What more needs to be tested, nothing has improved over the past month really, the disconnects are less frequent, what actually has changed and I have proof of is it takes me longer to reach Cape Town and JHB compared to a month ago. Nobody is able to tell me why that's happened, why it takes me 10 hops to reach the same destination compared to 6 with double the latency. Why is that, and why is it the same for several people in my area? Can I at least get an explanation as to why the increased latency?Hi.
I understand your frustration about the continuous faults with the fibre line; per the client, I will continue to log isolated faults with Frogfoot. Please note that they will request more tests, Reference #1555099.
I escalated all clients experiencing intermittent connection to our NOC team, and it was logged with Frogfoot. They advised that there were no issues and that the outage was resolved. Internally, the team did their checks as well and advised that the traffic on the NNI is normal.

Probably only in CPT then?No loss on my side, with MetroFibre EC

Probably an FNO issue, my traffic is going through CPT and it is fine
It isnt packet loss if the loss doesnt carry through to the last hop - the device on that hop is just dropping your ping packets, its normal to see.Still stuck with packet loss on the 1st hop out, got notification that the outage was resolved in our are, yet this issue persistsView attachment 1686531
Ping plotter classifies it as packet loss, why would the "loss" only count at the end destination. Should I be pleased that the loss only happens in the beginning of the ping test than at the end?It isnt packet loss if the loss doesnt carry through to the last hop - the device on that hop is just dropping your ping packets, its normal to see.
If there was actual packet loss, you would see it all the way to the last hop.

You only have packet loss if it carries through to the destination, that "packet loss" you're seeing at hop 2 is just that router dropping the ICMP packets as they're the lowest priority.Ping plotter classifies it as packet loss, why would the "loss" only count at the end destination. Went down again just before 12pm
