Afrihost - Pure Fibre Feedback Thread Part 2

Regarding the whole FNO thing, the email seems vague - because the people i have spoken to all think it said different things:
a) Line speed upgrade is temporary (just for FEB) to offset the impact of the price increase
b) Line speed upgrade is permanent and you just paying a little more.

@Afrigirl

I had read it as a permanent speed increase, but now seeing your message and re-reading the email, I'm confused as it very well could read as a February only increase.

Some clarification certainly would be appreciated.

That email? If it is, you guys seem to be overthinking things.

I know the speed upgrades are still in progress, but I just want to check something. When I do a SpeedTest, the initial burst goes up to 60Mbps (for download and upload), but then settles back at a stable 40 Mbps. Is there stil something I should do to have it stay at 60Mbps? I reset everything already.

Hi.
You do not need to do anything, we are still working on updating client's profiles to match the new speeds.

It is a permanent change. Frogfoot has increased their speeds and there will be a price increase with these new packages.

Nothing yet.

It's not easy to track down and replicate the issue because I'm getting varying results from JHB and DUR.
Can I help with these tests in some way?
I'm in CPT, maybe the issue is here. I'm consistently replicating it.

@Afrigirl, Help,.. All 4 lights on the FF ONT are green, but I don't have connectivity or IP.. I have cycled both ONT and router with no change.. On 250/250 and I have been getting 400/140 (for 2 hours) and back to 250/140 (the rest of the time) this speed cycles has been happening for the last couple of days. But today the connectivity decide to stop and no IP

Hey guys,
Not sure if it's just me but haven't been billed for Feb. Can see the Invoice, can't settle nor did the normal charge go off my card. Happy for free internet but since I got invoiced, guessing that isn't the case.

Hello.

Has the service been restored?

Any idea why the stats are not showing? It doesn't matter to me, but I'm just curious.1707231028374.png
