There seems to be some sort of broadcast storm at NAP JHB and we are observing severely degraded performance to peers at NAP JHB affecting DSTV, Playstation Network, SHowmax and any Akamai related content.

We are pending feedback from NAP Africa.

I was with Clear Access in Pretoria, had a 50mbps line but the ping was great (4ms)
I’ve moved to E.L, got a 100mbps line, great for streaming but ping is between 30-40ms??
Terrible for gaming.

Any idea if/how this can be fixed?

So nothing can be done about it?

Unlikely. Download pingplotter on a laptop or desktop and run a ping to 1.1.1.1 it weill show you the route. Latency is likely from you to the datacentre which is the fibre network operators portion.

No it's probably EL > Bloem > CPT > JHB for around 40ms hence we need a MTR to see what it looks like.
