Connection still not up since Friday.

I manged to eventually get an update on my support ticket last night that the ongoing network incident is being halted for security reasons.

Can we escalate and get an ETA on resolution?

Tried torrents. Two that I know are well seeded (~200mbps). I was able to get around 280mbps. With WA, everything was slow, so this is different.

So what can cause sites and http dl's to be slow, but not torrents?

Durban. 250mbps. (Line resolves at 1gbps though for some reason.)

Still kinda bad tbh.

Nvidia dl in Brave bouncing between 30-60mbps. Imgur loading at around 8mbps with a rare spike to 30mbps. Usually the imgur frontpage, which is video and image heavy, peaks of 70mbps.

Do you have things I can use to test. http dl's and sites. Whenever there's an issue my mind goes blank on things to test.

Using jdownloder2 for http, I'm getting 800mbps for pixeldrain and the nvidia drivers, weirdly.

A browser issue perhaps...? I haven't changed anything...

Wonder if this is not a cache problem somewhere, unfortunately I am at work and cannot test, but also had the same issue over the weekend.
 
@Afrigirl is there a reason Afrihost stopped the vuma black friday pricing for new sign ups so soon? I'm asking because I see a few other ISPs still offer it and I know Afrihost is allowing an opt it for existing users until the end of the month
 
Download XBOX pc games slow to download again. Speedtest show correct speed result. Downloading XBOX PC games go to 50Mpbs and then go to 0Mbps for a while and then jump in speed again.

Block this in your windows firewall for both incoming and outgoing rules.

199.232.0.0/16

Then reboot and try again.

Fastly CDN does not serve traffic locally anymore for Xbox game download, Microsoft updates and other high traffic sites like @Vorastra mentioned. They serve it from EU.

It's an ongoing issue. The main issue is why are the Fastly EU cdn so slow because there is plenty of transit capacity.

Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 6

I found these 2 ip addresses for Cool Ideas DNS servers so have set these up 154.0.1.10 and 154.0.1.150 as well as 1.1.1.1 and 9.9.9.9. Thanks for the reply cavedog. I am using 2 instances of Adguard Home and wanted to put different DNS servers in each. I also found this site which works well...

It's affecting all ISP's actually even if you use cloudflare warp there is no improvement.

IF you block those Fastly ranges and start the download you can download from a Liquid Telecoms Microsoft cache that Afrihost has access to.

Let me see if we can get a few Microsoft caches deployed on-net to speed things up.
