Hi to all and @AfriNatic hope you can assist me here. From around the 07th of December here in KZN in Richards bay we have had high latency and lag on the line. It got better around the 08th of December. On the 09th a huge outage and then all back to normal. On the 14th of December another bad experience as we had intermittent internet throughout the day. When it finally was addressed my speeds were cut dramatically as seen in the attached. My speeds tests are done directly from the router through Ookla. Please please please help

Hi,

On the 15th there has been a break between Richardsbay and Stanger causing degraded services. That outage has since been resolved.

Please can you run a couple of speedtests connected directly to the ONT and using the speedtest.net app and show the CPU usage of the device speedtesting.

Please dm me those tests and your email so I can log a fault with Frogfoot for you.

What's boggling is that a simple speedtest from my phone over wifi results in a higher download but upload still bad. Can't fathom this as the speed from the ONT is very low.

Can you try adjusting the TCP window scaling with the below command as admin and then do a reboot and test again?

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

Yes but only the download is at the correct speed via WiFi. However upload not. Both should be 200 / 200. Also can't grasp or understand this. How can the ONT only provide on an average of 40 / 20 and when plugged into the router the same via Ethernet but over WIFI 200 download and not even 10 upload. I am lost for words....

It's odd because it's almost that it's the router but then wifi download speed is good but upload slow and via ONT all slow.

Did you try a different ethernet cable?

Yes, three different types of Ethernet cables. And this happened straight after the break in line. I thought Perhaps Frogfoot downgraded me.

A while back I was in contact with Vinay, Mark and Larnell with regards to my internet as I had the 200 / 200 line but was only getting 2 / 2 in peak times and off peak it was normal - 200 / 200.

Well let's wait and hear from Frogfoot
