Is it me or is there something wrong with youtube local caching.

Most videos play just fine while some really struggle to buffer.

Strange thing is that the first half of the 28 min vid loaded fine now its sruggling.

Yes, three different types of Ethernet cables. And this happened straight after the break in line. I thought Perhaps Frogfoot downgraded me.

A while back I was in contact with Vinay, Mark and Larnell with regards to my internet as I had the 200 / 200 line but was only getting 2 / 2 in peak times and off peak it was normal - 200 / 200.

Well let's wait and hear from Frogfoot
@Frogfoot Fibre please address this. This is really becoming a huge issue. Now speeds are even worse then ever.

@AfriNatic speeds are worse today. Same over wifi.

Morning,

There seems to be a break again and traffic is rerouted.

@AfriNatic I have an odd issue. I dont think its Afrihost related though.

I have a Dlink DIR806A modem, almost everytime there is a connection issue the modem will factory reset. I dont know how or why its doing that or even how to sort it out. I just to the "first start up" configs on the modem then restore my backup of the config file.

I tried manually factory resetting the modem and that didnt help. It resets about 2 or 3 times a week. It takes 5 min to restore the backup but its such a PITA to keep doing it.

Any idea what could be the issue? Im close to yeeting that Dlink modem out the window and switching to the Huawei AX3

It's an off issue but if the D-link isn't keeping it's config then it might be an issue with the device itself. You can try to switch TR-069 off if that is enabled.

Hey,

I ran a ping to 169.1.21.1 for some time now and I don't see any loss on that IP and haven't noticed complaints from other clients in CPT. It might be a line issue.

I can log it for you again just pm me your email address again so I can log it for you.

Outage Update
-- Power outage
Spoke to a Tech from Frogfoot here in Richards bay they upgraded the links substantially last Thursday out of the Waterbessie POP
From 2x40Gb to 4x100Gb
This current fault they say is on the engineering side and maybe config related.
How are we going to get this solved?

There is an ongoing network incident for the Waterbessie OLT affecting all of the complexes in Meerensee. There is currently Frogfoot techs on site and the Metro Ethernet team is also working on the issue.

As soon as there is new feedback from Frogfoot on the outage I will let you know.
