Are there currently any faults on openserve/afrihost in the malvern area as I don't see anything on the site

Edit:speed tests actually vary... sometimes expected 25meg speed other times it's dropping to 2-4 meg

I'm having the same issue but on 200m. It'll be fine for a few days and then it just goes completely to hell. Speedtest is showing full speed, but browsing and especially video aren't reflecting that.
 
Also having bad youtube performance last few days (some other website seems sluggish as well)
(Openserve 500/250) , Gauteng.
First thought it might be my line, gave everything a cold boot this mornign without change. Youtube not even able to play 1080p tonight :(
odd part is, if i access via a VPN(Netherland) youtube speed seems fine.

NNTP downloads does not seem to be drastically affected, nor google drive upload/download.

any method to provide youtube specific feedback?

*issue seems to be intermittent, as re-testing an hour later does not produce the same issue.

Yeah so it's not just me at least. I'm also the Openserve 500/250 and have been having these exact issues intermittently the last few days. What VPN did you use, never gave that a try yet

VPN was private internet access

believe i followed this video to a degree
and this to forward traffic through

but other application methods should be possible (either via desktop or router i guess)
 
We aren't seeing anything concerning regarding youtube and traffic levels look normal. We aren't able to replicate the issue on our side.

Can anyone with degraded yourube performance get a stats for nerds screenshot and also see if you can grab the server that is serving the video and do a trace route to it to see if there is any issues along the path?

It seems fine now but tends to happen later in the day. Will get you the info you need should it occur again, thanks!
 
Also been experiencing slow youtube speeds all week, having to resort to 4K Downloader in order to watch anything without buffering.

Upload speeds to transfer.pcloud.com has also been extremely slow.

I'm seeing a switch between local and international servers serving the videos. The international servers are still on the google network and goes via their own transit to EU. We are investigating. It seems intermittent.
 
That makes a lot of sense.

The one moment it is barely reaching 7mbps :

You can check in the resource manager what IP is serving your content.

That said even though it's international speeds should not be as degraded as they are and the fact that the traffic is still moving over Google's IPT is even more suspicious especially the speed.

At least I know I'm not alone, have been noticing it for last few weeks where streaming just isn't up to snuff.
 
I've also been seeing a lot of YT stuttering this week. Have to drop the resolution for videos to play - 1080p and above is a crap shoot. Will work great and then all the sudden would stop dead
 
Working on EU websites and sites are loading slow again. Seems to happen late afternoon and evening for me but YouTube is fine. No speed, latency or packet loss issues.

Edit: Turning Cloudflare WARP on makes everything work perfectly. I can live with this till a permanent solution is found

Buffering started and one IP is 130.117.190.156. Stats for nerds showing 700Kbps-1800Kbps.

Edit: WARP fixes this and a refresh or 2 also fixes it.
