Hi,

Unfortunetly with the voucher system the service still needs to be terminated before we can place an order even if the voucher is finished and service expired.

Please dm me the address so I can double check for you.
 
For the Huawei AX3 router, what is the default password to log into the router? Got mine, plugged in, automatically dialled which is fine, but can't actually log into the router.

If you haven't change the password during signup then the default password would be your cellphone number.
 
Anyone else on Openserve in Bayview, Strandfontein having an outage?
AX3 just has constant red light. Even after pulling the power and restarting.

I had the same problem around midnight here in Zeekoevlei, but it was up again again 8 am this morning.

It’s not an Afrihost issue but the streaming service crunchyroll struggles due to the limelight JHB CDN having poor throughput but before you’d use googles dns 8.8.8.8 and it would route you to the UK limelight CDN however that has stopped working

There are some ISP’s that do not route to the JHB CDN such as internet solutions and the UK CDN gives proper throughput

Is there anyway that is possible via Afrihost ? Tried blocking the JHB IP via my router but it kills the entire service

So this is a traceroute from my Afrihost fibre

ll.v.vrv.co is the CDN used for Crunchyroll

This is from Internet Solutions (Campus ISP)

ll.v.vrv.co IS.png

Both networks are in KZN as you can see it resolves to different IP Addresses (41.63.66.9 being SA JHB CDN and 87.248.204.26 Being UK)

Today I was getting 1mbps via JHB and on the other ISP resolves to the UK it maxes out at 100mbps

Tell me if there is anymore needed

I'm busy with a ticket but so far they are denying any issues.

If you are streaming on a computer editing

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

with the below

87.248.212.44 ll.v.vrv.co
87.248.212.44 crunchy.s.llnwi.net

forces the London based server which fixes the buffering but it's just a temporary work around.

We don't want to filter out the JHB cache server just yet so I will keep you posted on the progress. If we hit a brick wall I will just ask EchoSP to filter that range out and get traffic from EU via their transit anyways.

Yes they also deny any issues from support as well but it has been going on for years now and bypassing that CDN in the past produces the complete opposite experience

Thanks Afrinatic for that solution , Will use that on windows which will help for now. Excellent service as always

This openserve change is great, I honestly didn't see value in changing from 100 to 200 when the 500 is a few hundreds more, unfortunately I had to roll back to 100 from 500 since it was a bit out of budget once the price increase occurred but now with an extra 50 on the 200, I think it's great value therefore I just upgraded to the 250.
