Not sure that this will happen any time soon. Truth is Mobile is the real growth area for broadband right now. Seeing incredible speeds and surprisingly low latency on LTE. I think Telkom will have a lot to think about once coverage start to improve

That is a steal of a price I must say. We will how their network perform with everybody signing up now.

We're pretty confident that we have plenty capacity to cope with the extra traffic. And we'll monitor closely for any possible effect on service levels

So basically if we are in the middle of the month, ie, and we want a nice topup, it's best to get an extra package and then just cancel it again for the next month?

That's an interesting idea, but just think of the admin of swopping usernames! You'll still get topups at 2-for-1 at a great rate. But if you're topping up several times a month - you're on the wrong package! Nice thing about us is our per GB rate just gets lower as you go to higher packages till you hit R3.99 per GB. That's still 7 times cheaper than R29 per GB - which blew all our minds

Why is afrihost still at R 29 if axxess is already at R9,50 to top up? Last time i did the maths of 2xR9,50 =R19,00 for 2gb on axxess was cheaper than R29 @afrishost for 2gb, Isnt R29 a little expensive?

Remember that we have 2-for-1 top up on all our DSL products (and even on mobile at the moment) so you're actually only paying R14.50 per top up.

But at these new capped prices, I think it's also cheaper to just buy a bigger monthly data package to comfortably cover all your data needs

What's the price of a new Telkom line and ADSL rental? (installation and monthly)
...i have full confidence that i'll get faster response from posting here than actually calling Telkom!

A voice line rental is R170 odd that needs to go to Telkom, once that's installed we can get you setup with the ADSL portion of the line and the data Check our site for the Bundled pricing.

So I call Telkom at 16:30 yesterday to order a new line and today a technician is on his way to my place to install.
I can truly say I am impressed. Desperation must be at an all time high.
Now if only they can drop the line rentals to R100 incl for voice + ADSL!!
