Afrihost slashes capped ADSL prices

Afriman, so if there is no price drop or data increase for your bundled users then it will work out cheaper to actually unbundle the data & line. For example, I am on your 4/10mb & 50GB package for R697...if I unbundle this I can basically get the same deal for R600 and I can get 75GB for just R699.

Should I go ahead and unbundle or are you guys looking into this?

The 4/10 with 50GB/75GB costs R450pm/R572 (bundled)
The 4/10 line and extra 50/75 GB costs R399pm + R199/R299pm = R600 and R700pm

I don't see how you get to R697?

Just to confirm I pay roughly R25 for 50Gig if I bundle? (Telkom ADSL rental R425) Bundle through AfriHost R450.

If you bundle the package this price falls away, this pricing is only for the data packages :)

Not so great on a 2mps line get ping of 996 to the mtn server

Do not understand? Is your website wrong then? Says bundled 4/10 line with 50Gig data for R450. And how will top ups work?

No no, that's correct :) Maybe I'm missing the plot a bit here...
As per the article, this is new pricing for our Capped DSL data products for new clients. Top-ups are done at R29/ GB.

No joke, that is the amount I pay. Basically getting 50GB for R25!!!

Such good value!

Indeed!

@Afri
So basically if we are in the middle of the month, ie, and we want a nice topup, it's best to get an extra package and then just cancel it again for the next month?

So in essence to get most value for money I get the package, if I run out of GB purchase a new month to month 10/20/30Gig package at pro rata rate and then just cancel straight after?

We only need Telkom to scrap the analogue line and reduce the Adsl line rental by 50% then I will be happy.
