Afrihost slashes capped ADSL prices

Hi guys

I just want to confirm how the new packages will work for existing clients.
If you stay on the same package the Rand value will be the same - and instead we're giving your more data to use within the month. If that makes sense?

It'll all be sent in a mail to everyone which will confirm the amount of data each client will receive :)

Only 50? How much series and movies is that then? I'm at work during the day so shaped doesn't bother me. Just need a working connection at night.

Really? I looked at your website yesterday when I was checking out ISP's for uncapped business accounts and it still said "coming soon"

What's the price of a new Telkom line and ADSL rental? (installation and monthly)
...i have full confidence that i'll get faster response from posting here than actually calling Telkom!

Check the new ClientZone, the feature is there for Business Uncapped accounts :)

A voice line rental is R170 odd that needs to go to Telkom, once that's installed we can get you setup with the ADSL portion of the line and the data :) Check our site for the Bundled pricing.
 
Now just for unmetered data from midnight to 6am on the cappped accounts and you have a winner...

Well most series episodes are below 300mb each now and movies 1.5GB...... I don't download a hell of a lot. Just enough to fill my time to watch. In the old days I watched stuff at home every waking hour..... then my daughter arrived....

This is the only thing keeping me from killing off my TelkomInternet cap. If it is not renewed in March next year then I will combine my Telkom cap into a bigger Afrihost cap

Wow... the prices there are even better!
I think it's a bit too much to hope for that Telkom wont charge me an installation fee, eh?

@AfriGuy Say I want bundled 4/10 line with 50Gig Data can you do that? on the website all I see is 4/10 with 100Gig. I currently pay telkom R582 and axxess R375 so in total R957. If i remove the telkom line rental (R157) I am paying R800 for my internet. You guys charge R700 for your bundle and want to know if it can be even cheaper if I migrate my line and only have 50Gig instead of 100Gig.
As well how will the top ups work? Will topups work at the mentioned slashed prices?
 
Is there a significant difference between Afrihost Capped and Uncapped? I use like +-120GB of uncapped a month, is it worth to switch to 200GB capped? Assuming 4Mbps speeds on both options.
 
Afriman, so if there is no price drop or data increase for your bundled users then it will work out cheaper to actually unbundle the data & line. For example, I am on your 4/10mb & 50GB package for R697...if I unbundle this I can basically get the same deal for R600 and I can get 75GB for just R699.

Should I go ahead and unbundle or are you guys looking into this?

Next to the 4/10/100GB is a dropdown arrow that gives you the option for 50 or 75GB :)

Our Home Uncapped packages are shaped, but it's dependant on the overall network use at the time. On top of this, we'll only ever shape the non-essential protocols - realtime protocols are never ever shaped. Throttling also doesn't exist on our network :)

If you un-bundle your package you'll miss out on the ADSL line discount though - but it's up to you :)
OK, so come next month - you'll be billed the same amount as you currently are (for Capped DSL clients) but receive more data. If this makes sense?
