Well Afrihost made me pull my hair out this week.
They gave me two free domains to do with as I please. This was in September. The email said that the domains are mine and that I am welcome to transfer them to other website hosts if I want to.
So I tried to do it and it was a pain. Afrihost never paid for the domains at the registrar so where the whole free thing came from I didn't know.
After I tried to figure out what was going on I got some really bad support from Zayne at Afrihost. I'm mentioning his name because not only did he not read one of my mails at all but just gave a general answer that was something I already did and wrote in the mail to him. But today he also wanted me to pay them for my "free" domains. R100 a domain. Which defeats the purpose of making the domains free.
I was getting so tired of trying to figure out how to get the domains cancelled on their side that I thought fine, I'll pay it. But then I phoned them.
I spoke to a lady called Michelle. Afrihost representatives take note! She was excellent. I didn't have to pay for the free domains anymore and she took care of it all. She was friendly and she knew what she was doing.
Great work Michelle! Gian if you ever read this, give her a raise and give Zayne a warning. The guy is an idiot and he does not care about the customer at all and he does not bother to actually help the customer.
