Afrihost "Steal" Experience

I also had the R1 for 2x 25GB deal, and the performance on my 1Mbps account was amazing. It felt like completely unshaped, compared to my Mweb 1Mbps uncapped, which struggled to deliver 25kB/s during peak hours, where as the Afrihost account stayed at 104kB/s.

I think I've done about 30GB in total in just less than a month's time, while I was still using my Mweb uncapped as my primary Internet connection.

For gaming, my latencies on my Mweb connection was actually lower than that of the Afrihost connection - but just during off peak.

They do, but only a small amount of people get it, like RedAfrica.

... that's because it actually is unshaped. With AH capped accounts are the way to go, their uncapped is shaped to death.

I've had a great experience using their 50GB shaped package which I chose for R1. For some reason it's split into two 25GB's, so I hope they don't charge me for the one half because I did explicitly select 50GB when I signed up for the R1 steal.

No worries there. For some obscure reason AH split the 50 GB into 25+25. I'm on that package pretty much since the day it was introduced to the market ... never payed anything extra.

Uncapped 1mbps ... trash. It went at 400KBps for the 1st 3 days in July and has been going at 30KBps ever since.

Can't believe my R1 steal package(4mbps Uncapped) is over! This sucks, but I must say great service from Afrihost and the new shaping is much better. Did 250++GB in two months so thanks. I think I am going to get a capped package from them.

Before I forget I change my account on my router today and went on my e-mail and I saw that my "Cancel Confirmation" came through and there is no more accounts link to my Afrihost username, but when I go to the userstats from IS it says account status: "Active" so what now?

my 100GB account does not show up in the client zone. it went off at midnight. i went to input my old modem login details and it seems i am still connected to some account other than my old account. not sure how to proceed?

what exactly do you mean by the "what now"?

do you mean how do you proceed now with getting an Afrihost capped?

or do you mean "why does the IS say Active but no accounts in the Afrihost panel"?
