Afrihost Support Trial Forum

Afrihost support is great sometimes not the fastest but they really need to check their spelling lol I always have errors on emails from support, they should try grammarly...

What's up with Afrihost. My email connectivity has been erratic for the past two days. Early this morning all appeared back to normal. Just tried again a few minutes ago and the problem is back.

Chat is busy, so sent email, but response via email is normally more than 24 hours. Tried calling but I gave up after I was informed that I was number 50 in the queue. :(

Not a bad idea - we do encourage our team to check, but I guess they're over-eager to get the problem resolved sometimes ;)

At least you always know you're talking to a human :)

Sorry about the slow response - we're a little short on people right now, but we've already prepared a group of new trainees and should have at least 30 in circulation over the next few days. That should dramatically imprive our response times.

What sort of issue are you seeing? Complete disconnections or erratic speeds?

The Afrihost news server seems to be down, can anyone please confirm?

Hi jackyah333. Really sorry to hear about that. I'm not aware of any general issues. Are you still battling to connect to NNTP tonight?

Hi AfriMan / AfriGenie, I'd like to escalate #TSP-463-75199 pertaining to IN16233391 which was debited twice from my card

Alvin C. at Afrihost Helpdesk denies this, but my Bank Statement was attached to the helpdesk call I logged, clearly showing the double debit.

Please action that a credit be put through to my account for the second debit.

Thank you

I'm sorry about the admin. It looks like our records are only reflecting a single payment, so we'll need to trace and verify whether both payments were in fact received. If so, we will most definitely issue a credit in your favour. If not, it may be an error on the bank's side which you may need to query.

I've logged the escalation for you.

Much appreciated AfriMan - (can I top up your midnight oil for you ?)

Received a reply from Emil.j saying that the first payment bounced and I subsequently made a manual payment via Clientzone - however the first payment also went off my bank account (was possibly automatically resubmitted) therefore I need a refund of that amount please

So if the bank refused payment on our side, it would mean we only received the second payment. If that's the case, we wouldn't be able to credit or refund. However, we'll do a trace and confirm with our payment carrier.

It could be that the bank has not yet reconciled the initial transaction on their side. With credit cards that can sometimes be delayed.

Good Morning Afriman,

kindly take a look at my reply this morning to Ticket # TSP-463-75199 with confirmation letter from my bank that the first amount on 01 May 2018 did indeed go off as well and pass the credit - which coincidentally is also holding up my next payment to Afrihost resulting in an Arrear situation :(( not a happy Afrihost customer at all currently
