Downloading no problem, live streaming is basically impossible. Lot's of buffering. Again, it is not my exchange
 
You know your connection sucks when your download speed = upload speed on ADSL.

Shaped to death on a Saturday night. Can't do anything but complain :(
 
Https running at 300Kbps, 1/3 of the line speed right now. Very annoying. Tried playing streaming music at 192Kb/s roughly an hour ago and it was stuttering like crazy.

on a 1Mb/s line

Come on guys...
 
Just to add. Had a look at OW thread. Not a single complaint. Seems we are getting a big FU now that the 25th has come and gone.

Apart from last weekend and a few days during the week, there has been minimal shaping in DBN region that I have experienced.

The guys that are being shaped, please state what region you in so there is a clearer picture.

Any links you want me to try seeing I'm around the corner?

Try turning router off for 30 mins to get a new ip?

Really, what time did you check that thread? Obviously not in the 1:49 minutes before your post, because there were two complaints during that period?
 
I swear, the more you guys complain about the shaping and throttling, Gian is going to pull a MWEB move, then you are back to square one....

My second hop is my bridged modem, so ignore that. I've also done the tests with modem in and out of bridged mode so it is not that. No shaping currently applied and my line cannot exceed an average of 110kB. Not exactly a 4mb line's performance...

Anything up on your side?

I didn't see anything on our side. I did see a very brief spike in latency around 10am, but that went away within about 10mins.

Is it still like this, or back to normal?

Unless you're talking about a torrent, your speedtest should show full line speed as a realtime service.

Can you drop me a PM so we can check this out? :(

Did you check your clientzone to check if you are shaped? If you are dowloading while you stream, you may not get as good results as streaming on a clean line. Can you give this a try?

Gian would never do that - we'll always find a way that favours our clients even if we have to foot the bill :)
