Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

If you are changing within the same product category, then you can just change the product within the bundle without any issues. You still get billed a pro-rata amount on the new data price.

If you want to move from 4Mbps Uncapped to say 10Mbps Business, then you'll need to unbundle, upgrade and then rebundle. This is mostly because the discounts are calculated differently and the bundle are not interchangeable.

So I just select the 10mbps package as shown in the attached screenshot, and it will keep the bundle in tact, but just upgrade my speed?

And I didn't sign up for anything, and I opted out from the things Afrihost signed me up for without my consent, and I have in email replies and to Afriman made it perfectly clear that I do not wish to receive spam - what is your point?

Oh, mate. If you despise them so much, what's to stop you from switching over to another ISP?

I just checked your last few posts in this thread and it appears that you've convinced yourself that your experience reflects that of others on Afrihost.

Stop badmouthing Afrihost and fix your issues.

Stop badmouthing me and fix your issues.

Afriman exists on MyBB as a courtesy service - he'll do what he can for any Afrihost related issue, but if you're having serious connectivity problems why not just pick up the phone and have it sorted out much faster?

Spoken like someone who has never phoned Afrihost support before.

I've had seriously poor Afrihost connectivity on three occasions. First time Telkom replaced a section of faulty cable in my property, second time Telkom repaired a damaged pole near my property and third time Telkom replaced the filter on my line.

Good for you. How is that relevant to anything?

S**t happens. Just help Afrihost help you.

At this point Afrihost don't seem particularly interested in fixing their issues. They seem more interested in spamming. Too bad.

Hey Afriman

I was just wondering if you could clarify something for me... How will the pre-order work?

Will we just be able to sign into our Afrihost Clientzone account and add the service to the account, or will we have to sign an entirely different 'Mobile' form?

Also, I hope the first 1000 people will get to reserve their spots, even if they dont fill out the form before others.. if that makes sense?

You'll receive the email from us and use a unique link (with embedded code) so go straight to the landing /signup page. From there, if you're details are all OK, we'll reserve that unit for you as a signed up client, ready for delivery. No-one will have a reserved product waiting for them to sign it up - if that's your question - so you've got to be quick on the draw with your mail response.

I've done no such thing. People have issues. I listed some of mine that I've had in the past. You are the only person I can see whining like crazy though - asking Afriman if your previous request was ambiguous, speaking about Afrihost's network quality like it in any way reflects the average experience, making me deal with mind numbingly inane replies from you, and just being a little b*tch in general.

Stop badmouthing me and fix your issues.

Very mature.

Spoken like someone who has never phoned Afrihost support before.

I've phoned their support quite a few times since signing up. They got the job done just fine.

Good for you. How is that relevant to anything?

It's quite obviously relevant because it shows that serious connectivity problems can often have nothing to do with your ISP. So have a Telkom techie stop by before immediately telling everyone that Afrihost is broken.

At this point Afrihost don't seem particularly interested in fixing their issues. They seem more interested in spamming. Too bad.

You've spent a hundred times more energy moaning about Afrihost's 'spam' that what it would have taken to just delete the email in question, or make an inbox rule to delete emails from Afrihost. Afrihost does not email often, and as I've said, when they do it's to inform their customers about network news and competitions. Give them a break - they're a prime example of how companies should manage their email correspondence responsibly.

I'm looking for a friend.

Requirement: Must be a client of Afrihost and you must be a morning person on Tuesday.

My friendship comes with rewards of your choosing. PM me ;) please :o

I've switched to Afrihost business uncapped and I must say, I'm in love. Best pings for gaming so far. I've tried Telkom, Mweb and lastly Afrihost. Theirs is the best. Torrents are pretty good too.

Okay.... will this pre-order email come through at 00:01 or at a random time? :P (Just being prepared)

Ok still getting international issues. But this is weird. Can someone else test these two servers in London.

If you go to speedtest.net and hover over London there are 5.

I have a 4 meg line

These are the results I get with the second one (London - Hosted by Vodafone UK)

And here's the second test (the fifth option) (Ealing - Hosted by UK Broadband PPCW)

I'm consistently getting the discrepancy. Anyone know what gives? :/ In general I'm getting mixed international performance. Somethings like Steam are good, but others like youtube and netflix are poor.

Got a strange one here. My adsl keeps on going down on me.
Looks like my line is fine.
This is what the modem shows in its log

Well. Seems that my modem is not the problem.
Just got this one

Guess I'll follow up with Afrihost and Telkom tomorrow.

Please do send us as much feedback as possible so we can verify against our logs! We'll escalate to Telkom if there is definitely a line issue :(

We're running tests on our side to try to determine if there is an issue with international service. So far, we're getting pretty consistent results.

Not to say that we're not taking the VERY seriously. Any diminishment of service is definitely a concern to us, and we'll keep testing until we replicate the issue. Once we have, we'll know exactly where to look to get this sorted :(

Not sure if you've seen the posts a few pages back, but quite a number of people with poor international the last two weeks. Just FYI.

Edit: Afriman, I just remembered something. I think I started noticing the issues the same day I saw a post by Afrihost stating that 'changes to the Cape Town IPC had been made and Cape Town users should start seeing better results' or something along those lines. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it was the exact same day. I'm in JHB.
