Anybody else getting packet loss every few seconds, which gets worse at night, this started about the time afrihost had their dns issues.

Our DNS is 100% up and working. No issues on my side at all. What do your traceroutes show?

Any known issues going around?

Local and international speedtests both are around 130KB/s

On 2mb line.

I'm in Durbanville.

Tracerts look good to local and international sites. No spikes on any hops.

Definitely no network issues tonight. My line is flying at home. I know Durbanville suffers from exchange congestion, might not show on a trace because it's such a tiny amount of data. Have you tried running Tweak My Line?

A traceroute shows nothing wrong but this is what the ping is doing constantly. Makes gaming very frustrating. If i ping 3 different sites at once some will timeout others don't. I mean they all timeout just not at the same time. My noise margin is constantly changing between 14.15 db an 16 db, not sure if that's normal.

Hi Afriman,

I thought Afrihost would be more interested in keeping a client who uses several of your services: hosting, Telkom adsl line and adsl data account. Doesn't seem to be the case, I had submitted at the beginning of August a cancellation request for the Telkom ADSL line managed by Afrihost, but then cancelled the request and received an e-mail confirmation. Now suddenly I received an email saying that my adsl account had been cancelled as requested. I enquired and was told that my line was still with Afrihost but my data account had been cancelled. I asked why on earth would I want to keep my line with you if it wasn't to use my data account, and asked if they could restore the data account with immediate effect, otherwise I would proceed to cancel everything as I was angry about this issue. I was told it could not be done, so I just submitted a cancellation to all my Afrihost services as I expected a better treatment.

I just signed up for your 1meg uncapped package on clientzone. How long will it take to activate?

The great news for our clients is that every single client will be granted 300 minutes (or 5 sessions) automatically each month. Clients will also be able to top up additional Turbocharge sessions for just R29 - applicable minutes will depend on the client's package. The following table illustrates how much R29 will purchase on each tier:

Where's mine? :o

It should be instantaneous if you've got your ID stuff sorted.

I am already a client so they don't need it. I got a hold of someone with live chat support and they said my account was properly authenticated. He sorted me out!

:)

Also just signed up and now it won't connect even to my free account.

If you're traces are not showing timeouts that's very odd indeed.

Can you do three consecutive trace routes and then PM to me?
