Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

Same here - had to move onto my FNB account. 4mb Afrihost uncapped is dead. I notice the 2 people who posted above me are in the same area? I am in Waterfall.
 
I'm in Pinetown KZN, Afrihost also dead for me (no email/browsing .. but I can resolve local & international sites just fine via DNS).

Afriman? Something up with the DBN IPC this morning?
 
Durban down for me as well. Some sites work, most time out. Can ping and resolve without issue.

I'm in Crestholmes and my "experience" is not too bad overall. By that I mean, during the day no-one is at home and no torrents are running, so I don't know. At night, youtube streams at max 240p without buffering most of the time. I only do 2-4gb of torrents a night and these are finish by the time I wake up.

But what gets me is the shaping on weekends. Not acceptable. I needed to download something on Sunday and had to switch to my capped backup account. Pathetic to say the least.
 
also down here near richards bay, Been having issues since last night.

At work, at home and on my mobile data... It seems even my mtn sim card (in my phone) :/

Traceroutes are normal, pings work to any site i can think of, but pages simply dont load. Emails come through on my phone and whatsapps too. but this is only over afrihost mobile.. web pages dont load on anything :/

No http in PMB either. I can stream some radio stations, can connect to my sftp server, but no authentication.
 
Well its all over kzn, kinda weird could ping google dns server but not do anything else.
 
yo mama is so fat, when she sat on a fiber cable all the Afrihost home uncapped subscribers all saw this in their clientzone
"Shaping Policy: 12.5% Download/ 6.25% P2P"
 
Are we going to get daily reports of how much people are shaped as if it helps anything ?

No problem, they can kick you guys off at 5:15pm when I get home :P

However it is different per IPC, Durban JHB and CPT all under different shaping severity.

Morning guys

Looks like we have a problem in KZN this morning, we've seen a huge drop off in that part of the network, and we're still investigating the cause of the issue.

We're seeing clients authenticate but get no throughput. We are working with MTN and Telkom to find out what has caused this issue. We're already seeing some increase in traffic, but we'll have to wait to see if we've managed to sort this out yet.
