Hey guys
Just a quick heads up, we're seeing ADSL issues in the South Region (affecting CPT and surrounds)
Increased latency and slower downloads speeds may be a side affect of this - our team are working on this and should be resolved ASAP.
Fixed for you.
Seems to be a regular problem. I'm sure it has to do with Telkom fiddling with capacities/IPC's over the weekend.

actually...my experience with Afrihost has been pretty much spot on since the first week of october (it was a bit iffy for a day or 2 when i joined). So while you think you are doing me a favor by adding AGAIN to the end of my post....this is the first time i have noticed a huge degradation of service to the point where i cant use the line (except for stuff like posting forum topics).
Lets not be hating on Afrihost....Its clear they have multiple people rolling around this forum trying to make peoples lives easier. Give them time to hound Telkom to fix the problem.
Unfortunately Telkom does not read this forum.
Remember, AH speaks on our behalf, as our lines are with them as well, so I will say it again and again, not only for my benefit, but for everyone.
I will also ask again, wonder what will happen in the next 2 weeks, when Telkom upgrades everyone's speed for free? Probably lots and lots of congestion all over.(Not just AH)
I guess that explains why we're getting 5Kbps max on our 10MB line :/ Even with the strict shaping we should be getting 64Kbps.
The problem right now doesnt seem to be shaping in Cape Town...it seems to be an issue with Telkom infrastructure?
We aren't 100% what is causing this exactly, but we're working with Telkom to have this sorted out.

upgraded to business uncapped to try and boost my p2p speeds. Nothing changed
@AfriGuy, your network status page states the following:
"Our engineers have identified the problem and are busy resolving as our highest priority. We apologise to affected clients and assure them that all our available resources are being employed to restore normal services."
This is of course contrary to your statement above. It is becoming more and more difficult to take Afrihost seriously.
