Just noticed a latency drop - first step to success :)

However, browsing is still slow :/

Well at least we know our ISP is working on it :D

Lots of packet loss still:

That's a good sign! Our Engineers are still working with Telkom to bring everything back up to speed. Should have an update for you guys soon.

The Southern Region DSL has been affected by an IPC failure. Telkom Specialists are onsite resolving the issue as quickly as possible.

Please leave CT off, my ping to EU has been under 480 for the first time in weeks! Finally 214 :D

Yup.
Anyone in the Southern region (Cape Town, surrounds and some of PE) will see higher latency and slow downloads until we have this sorted out.
Add East London to that - downloading at a massive 1.1KB/s on a 1Mbs line and browsing almost impossible.

@AfriGuy, can you share some details about what has actually gone wrong?

Basically it looks like some of the cards on the Cape Town IPC have failed, so while some are still in operation, capacity has more than halved. This means that contention is much higher, and latency will also be very high as a result.
