Not yet - line upgrades will be free but they will not upgrade data prices

Afriman - there is an issue on your site. Please would you forward this to the web department :D

Hahaha - we had to lay off the dev team so we could offer these prices ;)

Seriously though - that's the right price (Do Not Adjust Your TV) ;)

Yes, for the moment. We just dropped capped prices, so capped bundles are pretty much not affected. Uncapped bundles will be provisionally amended (we'll email affected clients with details) but we'll do a full review of uncapped and bundle prices once we see what the full impact is of the Telkom upgrades.

We're not changing our data prices - so we'll only be amending Uncapped bundle prices to reflect the line regrades. we'll be revisiting our pricing only once we've assessed the impact of upgrades on our client base :)

Afri*, I was under the impression that cancellations can be done up until the 25th of the month. But this morning when I tried to cancel, I found "Billing has already commenced for this month, your line will
only be cancelled at end of next month 31-Dec-2013". I'm not happy  Can you possibly rectify? I'll PM you my details

We always say before the 25th, as billing run commences on the morning of the 25th.

Awesome.....

Seems the telkom ADSL upgrades destroyed my exchange, they can't get my line running stable at 4Mb, just say sorry too far when I know that's pure bulls***. Nevermind, downgraded back to 2Mb, sitting at over 2000ms first hop latency.

Pure awesome......

Afriman - I seem to have found something :D

3 Letters - DNS. Strange as I know it should not make a single difference whatsoever!

As soon as I changed over to public dns, full speed?
Google Public DNS

I know, I know, its a longshot... but, ill try it and report back if it works or not

Hi guys,

I think I may have been bumped up to 2mbps on my dsl. What is the current uncapped price of 2mbps? also, have you released any news on any pricing adjustments?

Our data price will remain the same R297. However, a 2Mbps bundle price will be changing shortly to reflect the decreased line rental. We should be mailing affect clients with all the details in due course :)

This response is getting a bit tiresome from ALL ISPs. Just pull the trigger already. If theres a line saving only, then adjust your bundles appropriately.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like the others that have been upgraded are pulling a ton of data there :(

DNS makes a huge difference. Although it can't improve throughput in certain cases, it does change your geolocation and change how certain services treat you. However, if the DNS is overloaded - especially the free ones like Google DNS - then it can slow down your speeds cos it takes to long for them to respond.

We always recommend our DNS for the best overall results - but certain DNS will work better for certain specific services like Netflix or Hulu
