Did send a PM.
All I need 20Gig Caped.
Not rocket science.
Till Telkom sorts me out and others.
And of course when the telkom techie is at my house pings will be 30ms and tracerts are 11ms on 2nd hop.
Apparently they changed / redid some wiring at the exchange yesterday. Will post some tests here tonight while the network should be at its worst.
Hi AfriMan
you need to clear your PM area. I cant PM you.

Unfortunately the second hop is still exceeding normal patterns. This usually indicates exchange congestion but, as its been proven here, could be many other things. Could you possibly do something (preferably now, when the issue is present), could you go over to a neighbour and ask to run a tracert to any site from one of their pc's (I know it sounds stalkerish, but it really would help). That will help us see if the problem is universal in your area.

Not looking great at all. Anything over 30ms is definitely concerning - but generally ping to your exchange should be at least below 15ms on a healthy line/exchange![]()
Yip. The telkom techie that came out wasn't really knowledgeable about speed. Said he will send someone who knows how. Don't know when though.
Eish, I have a son sitting at home trying to play games and I have this...

If it isn't poor line quality whenever it rains, it's shaping.
Time to seriously consider an alternate ISP.
