Our DSL services in the South should be restored, let's give it a few more mins to normalise back up to 100% :)
Thanks for everyones patience!

AfriMan
Did send a PM.
All I need 20Gig Caped.
Not rocket science.:)

Till Telkom sorts me out and others.

And of course when the telkom techie is at my house pings will be 30ms and tracerts are 11ms on 2nd hop.

Apparently they changed / redid some wiring at the exchange yesterday. Will post some tests here tonight while the network should be at its worst.

Keep us posted, if congestion is intermittent or only displaying later on it can be harder to spot when the tech arrives :(

I know this might be quite a change for a few of you - but do what I do, Just sign up on showrss.info and add your personal RSS feed to your torrent client.

When I wake up in the morning, all my series from the past day are downloaded :D It works really well

Plus - if you want to go a bit further, do what I did, just use theRenamer to auto sort and add your series to your plex server. This means that you do not have to do any downloading - as it does it by yourself (overnight too, which helps lesson the strain on the network)

Hi AfriMan

Send you a PM. See wat is the best way you can do.
As soon Telkom sorts out their issues I will up my data cap.

Unfortunately the second hop is still exceeding normal patterns. This usually indicates exchange congestion but, as its been proven here, could be many other things. Could you possibly do something (preferably now, when the issue is present), could you go over to a neighbour and ask to run a tracert to any site from one of their pc's (I know it sounds stalkerish, but it really would help). That will help us see if the problem is universal in your area.

Telkom is working on it atm. The neighbours I do know do not have adsl.

Not looking great at all. Anything over 30ms is definitely concerning - but generally ping to your exchange should be at least below 15ms on a healthy line/exchange :(

Yip. The telkom techie that came out wasn't really knowledgeable about speed. Said he will send someone who knows how. Don't know when though.

AfriMan

Eish, I have a son sitting at home trying to play games and I have this...

Data Statistics
Data Used: 18.11 GB
Average Daily Usage: 1.39 GB
Projected Monthly Usage: 43.19 GB

Account Overview
Account Status: Account Active
Shaping Policy: 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P

On a 4mbps line.

If it isn't poor line quality whenever it rains, it's shaping.

Time to seriously consider an alternate ISP.

What do you expect this time of day? Gaming won't be affected tho.
