Any know issues with the network? Been pretty slow since I woke up.

That's only really the case in the North. South is much better and still not much shaping happening in the East.

If you look at hawker's location...

EDIT: I know I'm trolling (even tho I'm an ex uncapped client, current capped client, and bought an uncapped account for 2 weeks not so long ago to give my star rating a rest and test the "network load" in the east - which was very random) but you can't hide the truth, I will lay off now, I'm sure I've got my message across by know

Not sure what point you're making here. I'm clarifying that not all Afrihost users are shaped, which is the truth.

If you've moved on, not sure I understand the sour grapes here :(

Hi afri* If I wanted to drop down to home uncapped from business uncapped to test the difference when would it take effect? And if I am not happy with it. How long before I can upgrade back to business?

I was referring in general to all my comments made up to now regarding how I don't like how AH changed their shaping policy from IS to MTN, and am still feeling sensitive about how good I had with IS compared to how it is now.

It grates my noodle when I want full speed but can't get it because the "network is busy", whereas before I could, up to a point where if I started abusing the connection, then I would be shaped accordingly.

The way it is now, people are punished for just being a client.

Upgrades between Uncapped products generally take about 24 hours, so you should be able to drop down and change back in a short time. However, there could be a pro-rata charge when you go back up, so maybe chat to me on PM while you're doing it so you don't pay unnecessarily :)

A few of the people on playstation (myself included) are having connection issues with PSN. We are all on afrihost. The other guys not on afrihost aren't having issues at the moment. Any news on what is happening with the network?

I'm not sure. I haven't seen any issues myself connecting to PSN. How long has this been happening. Have you done any basic checks on your line?

It's hard to say from this. If you reset your connection, you could get normal response for a time, you'd really need to test both accounts for a period to determine this. Even at the highest demand times, we see high latency but there is still connection and some service. To not be able to even ping is very unusual against what we're seeing in general.

I know we have tried a few times to get this sorted with Telkom, but drop me a PM and let's chat about what options you have going forward :(

Connecting to psn seems fine. On the ps4 starting games that use internet connection there is an error shown saying "could not connect to server".

As I'm not the only person getting this issue and seeing as the other people that do get this issue are also at Afrihost it seems logical that my line is not the issue.

Friends with other ISPs are not having the same issue.

I'm have done normal speed tests and ping tests and all have been successful and seem to be performing optimally.

Edit: I didn't play yesterday but the day before was fine and Started trying from about 9am this morning

Problem seems to have fixed its self. No more reported issues.

Edit: sorry a bit premature, still having issues.

Sorry, seems like it was OK for a bit. Not experiencing issues on this side, but let me know if this persists through the night. Usage is tapering off in all regions so we'll be able to eliminate that from tests :(

@afriman. PS4 users are blocked to online servers for online play. Psn store and downloads work. Tested using Vodacom and online gaming works. Problem was yesterday. Working last night from 9pm. Now broken again. All afrihost members on sagamer forum has the same problem. Whats up?
