Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

@afriman. PS4 users are blocked to online servers for online play. Psn store and downloads work. Tested using Vodacom and online gaming works. Problem was yesterday. Working last night from 9pm. Now broken again. All afrihost members on sagamer forum has the same problem. Whats up?

Does the free 1gb capped account work?
 
I'm considering dropping from uncapped 4 meg to 150gb capped. They're pretty much the same price. Am I right in saying the capped account won't be shaped?

Yeah but if I've already paid for a full month of uncapped then I'd be being the pro rata on top of that right? Presumably this stops people switching from uncapped to capped several times a month as the mood suits them.

Ohh, yes, I see what you mean then.

Correct - best thing would be to cancel your account (Set it for the end of this month), and then sign up for a capped account.

Do it soon though, as the next months billing cycle will start soon

Well I think I'll wait till the extra bandwidth comes online and see what the experience is like then. Nice to have capped as a backup plan though.

New bandwidth should be coming up very soon. Not sure what sequence Telkom will make everything live, but we're hoping the North goes live first, as that 's where we're seeing the highest demand overall.

Let's hope we see a surprise on our graphs soon ;)

It depend on how you've done it. If you're using a bundle, Uncapped and Capped products are discounted differently, and we charge pro-rata on the individual product value, not the bundle value. So the bundles may be priced the same, but the individual discounts are calculated differently - it's also why you have to unbundle and re-bundle when moving from say Uncapped to Capped or Business.

I'm trying to use the "Live Chat Support" and the nice little light is GREEN but I can't get anyone...

It means that we have agents logged in but they are currently busy with other chats with clients. We allow clients to operate multiple chats on Live Chat, but they won't accept more chats if they're not able to. Eventually it should prompt you to log a contact request.

This is often a problem with Live Chat, and then you have an option to email your request. Which is great, the problem is the emails never get responded too. I had an issue with the amount I was being billed for my account, took various attempts to get someone to actually chat to, and even then it was a lengthy process to actually get charged the correct amount. Emails still have never been responded to.

I've submitted 3x requests, they never come back to me.

Yes, we don't ever shape Capped Accounts. In fact we basically don't touch them at all, so you get your line's max performance at all time :)
