I read somewhere that Afriman said that the South and East each received about 20% IPC upgrade
So it is still not the full capacity they ordered.

Edit:
Found the post.

Thanks for that. I wonder when the additional upgrades will come through. I'm in the South and while my experience is better, it's still quite far from what it was before the period of capacity shortage began.

My experience is much, much better than before the upgrade.

I only had 2 weeks of good running when I moved to AH, then the severe shaping began.
I really don't understand these partial upgrades. Why does it always end up in a partial upgrade and never the requested upgrade.
I'm not sure what the percentage was of the northern upgrade, but that did not last very long as some guys were already reporting shaping and slow downs a while back.

Not too sure how long 20% will last. As I posted previously, these little upgrades tends to run in 3 month cycles it seems.

Hmmm... I understand that post to mean that they received their upgrade that they ordered 8 months ago, but have had to order new additional capacity as this long-waited for IPC upgrade relates in real terms to only a 22% increase which is now not going to be enough and THUS this has been termed "provisional" as now more needs to be added.

They did not receive a partial upgrade... however this increase is only a 22% boost and is not nearly enough to sustain awesomeness, so more has had to be ordered... and thus this new wait cycle commences.

This is my interpretation of it.

You could very well be right.

Browsing has suddenly slowed down dramatically for me from just before 17:00. Local and international.

Yip, both local and international browsing are very slow for me. Never seems to be an end to the problems with Afrihost...

Hi Guys,

Over the last few days i have been suffering very badly with normal web browsing as well as gaming. so much so that i have disabled all downloads. I am still not getting any real browsing speed. this forum takes a minute to load each page at times.

Can anyone confirm if business is working again or if not recommend an isp that i can use to get some pre-paid data that will work well with gaming and browsing?

Thanks

Hi guys.
I just registered as new Afrihost member about 15 mins ago.
I just need some assistance please. I received my login details through sms, and setup my router already, and are connected with my afrihost account details in my router. I just have small problem now.
When I registered online, they asked me for e-mail adres. I typed my [email protected], and continued the registration.
I want to log into my account on afrihost webpage (clientzone). What is the username and password I must use, and how do I setup my outlook to have e-mail?
The problem is I cannot setup my mail, cause the username and password doesn't work in Outlook.

Thanx

Chris

You should have used another email address like your work one or something to register with, so you can receive your details to setup yourself. I suggest you PM Afriman to maybe try change that email to something you have already.

Hope this helps :)

Since the partial IPC upgrade it's been fairly mixed for me. Shaping yesterday morning, none early afternoon, a lot for most of the evening and none from midnight until now. So it is better but not as much as I would have expected considering yesterday was a public holiday, Tuesday will be interesting.

Ye Tuesday is definitely going to be interesting. See how it holds up, hopefully for East IPC it will be good.

I was just about ask if they eased off on the shaping, but doesn't look like anything has changed. I'm on business at the moment and want to go back uncapped as ever only download during the early hours of the morning. Why doesn't Afrihost ease off on the shaping at that time? I know mweb used to do it.
