Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt3)

Seems decent for 4Mbps now

i'm still experiencing poor speeds on my 4Mbps Uncapped account. Pretty much the same as yesterday morning:
afrihost.png

I've been very patient, but I'm starting to consider cancelling my Afrihost account & taking my business elsewhere.
I signed up for my 4Mbps Uncapped in January & these were my downloading averages per day: Jan 19gb/day. Feb 18gb/day. March 12gb/day.
March you can see is where the problem started!
April so far, Clientzone says "Average Daily Usage: 9.79 GB"
Thats disappointing, & pathetic quite frankly, for the amount I'm being charged for this service!!

I contacted afrihost via their twitter account but there's been no resolution to my problem to date

This does not look like an ISP fault.
It looks more like a line problem.

I would suggest that you register for a free Web Africa 1GB account.
That should indicate if your problem is ISP related.

Before these guys blame your line as AH can do no wrong, what happens when you try another ISP? maybe grab the free 1gig from Web Africa.

I have already explained to him that it could be Afrihost and have suggested he get a free GB account, thank you very much Chevron! Always appreciate the thoughtful comments.

Looks like SERIOUS exchange issues :( how does the line perform with a different ISPs account?

I'm still on the old 1Mbps package, not too worried about speed just getting what I need. Before the IPC problem I used to do around 150 -180 GB a month without even really trying to push it and do most of my downloading 10PM-8AM, if I wanted I could do more. Right now I'm on 58GB for the month with 12GB downloaded the past 2 days. That should give you at least an idea of home uncapped when all is working.

Looks great! Coz I don't see the point in having business uncapped when all I do is browse, watch youtube videos, and game during the day and download during the wee hours of the morning in any case.

Plus now I can go to a faster line for the same amount of money.

Getting good speeds on my business account.

@Afrireps have a blessed Easter/Holidays

Wait until Tuesday or the end of the week when everyone is back at work. Then see how the network holds up.

I'm really hoping nothing bad happens. I wonder when the next capacity upgrade will occur, considering it was also ordered quite some time ago.

So i have tested WA account over last 24 hours. speed is still terrible. Going to log a fault with telkom.
Just tried to book movies on sterkinekor website and the flash loading screen was stuck at 24% for a minute before i gave up and used my phone to book rather.

Yea, this pretty much confirms the line fault :(

Just a tip - contact your local Telkom office as opposed to the hotline :) Usually gets things done a bit faster :P
