Sounds awful, I thought AH fixed the shaping issues with the added capacity![]()
Well my brother is a new adsl subscriber to Ah. Everything is with Ah and he had congestion problems. After speaking to the ah team on twitter they said that the ping timeouts on hop 3 and 4 are perfectly normal. Only after he took the whole thing public via twitter and Facebook did they help him. Terrible.
How has the home uncapped shaping been in Gauteng recently?
Want to move to AH as soon as my current account is closed.

Yep had to do the same thing, a week of speaking to support people about my latency issues, speaking to 3 different people on the same ticket and everytime it was a new person i had to redo every test result that the last one told me to supply...
Had to resort to posting here in order to get some help and my ticket escalated to competent people.
Regardless, i kept getting the same "capacity issue" excuse in every response no matter what evidence i supplied showing otherwise. I decided to just drop it and let it ride until the "capacity issue" was resolved. After this past weekend and getting utterly crap and spiking latency in games on my capped account, i cancelled my uncapped. I'm done.
I'm no heavy user, use around 50gb/pm. Earlier at around 1:50am my NNTP was going @ 6kB/s, clientzone showed i was still being shaped... 20mins ago (~2:15am) when i checked clientzone again, my shaping was finally lifted.
If you're in the South, that would make sense - but from what I can see the North was pretty much unshaped by midnight. If you're in the North, then there could be a problem somewhere![]()
No i'm in the south. The inconsistency of service over the last 2 months has been shocking, gotta draw the line at some point.
My uncapped account is completely useless for gaming (diablo 3) at the moment, i actually dont even test it first anymore, dial up my capped account before even opening the game... My capped account isnt much better, its just the lesser of 2 evils... 300-350ms+ with spikes of 450ms+ every few minutes... No thanks.
90mins in and Turbocharge still hasn't kicked in.
Loving it. 120mins of Turbo being wasted.
Please would you run my second tool in my signature

Used your tool before, but hop 2 (exchange) times out 100% of the time, so it gives no result. This seems to have 0 effect on my line performance as my connectivity is still perfect.
My issue is completely on AH side of things, as my WA account gives me an awesome ping of 180ms in Diablo 3. Hop 2 times out on this account as well![]()

Strange. Are you using our DNS servers?
A timeout to the exchange usually indicates a line/ exchange issue.
Using Google public DNS.
My line and its performance are fine, as I said, my WA account works great, jump to my AH account and all goes downhill :/
Yes, I know, capacity issues in the south >_>
Can I see the full trace route? Also can you see if there is any difference using our DNS servers rather than google?
