Any new news on IPC capacity? I downgraded my Home 10Mbps line to a 4Mbps Business line, after being shaped to 12% of the 10Mbps line speed. Been like that since November last year in the Kempton Park area

I need to re-download/reinstall Battlefield 4, 17 Hours to go on this 4meg line :(

New Capacity is now in place in JHB, no shaping is now the norm :D

Thanks but I would like to hear if this is true from Afriguys, I dont want to change again just to find out I got the same issue.

And different parts of JHB got different regions of shaping applied

It was confirmed several times in the previous thread.

Doesnt afrihost offer a 1Mb uncapped line anymore????
Not everyone wants a 2Mb line:( thats R100 more
I'm assuming you mean a 1 meg uncapped DSL account?

They do still offer 1 meg uncapped accounts.

If you actually mean DSL line, Telkom no longer offers 1 meg lines. It won't be costing you R100 more in any case because the new price of the 2 meg line is equal to the price of the old 1 meg line.

Capacity in the North has been upgraded, and we're seeing little to no shaping in the North at the moment.

We also plan to do more upgrades nationally, but I don't have a further ETA on those :)

Telkom have discontinued 1Mbps lines completely, so we can't offer those lines anymore. What we can offer is 1Mbps data (uncapped) which is still cheaper than 2Mbps data. The line price is the same as the 2Mbps line now, so you don't actually pay more that you would have on the 1Mbps bundle.

What would be a better option Cybersmart capped 2Mb with 20Gig and nightrider or afrihosts 1Mb uncapped line. I get about 70Gig with cybersmart:whistle: I only do p2p at night... how much can a user achieve on a 1Mb uncapped afrihost account per month. And please not the link to the uncapped dsl leaderboard.... http://www.hellkom.co.za/download-projections/

When I was on 1mb business uncapped I got up to 230GB. I have no experience with 1mb home uncapped, but you could definitely get more than 70GB.

Awesome!, Thanks Afriman. I would like to change my bundle from the 4meg business back to the home 10meg bundle, when would be the best time to do that? Between the 20th and 25th?

If it's on steam you can always backup your files. And again if on steam, there are 3 jhb servers, one of them routes via p2p traffic, so just change it.

When I was on 1Mbps Home uncapped I did about 200GB pm

Afriman I submitted a support ticket with those google trace routes, got a responce in 1 hour, pretty impressed. About my line, I thought it was pretty good, but apparently the ping's are to high lol, can live with it for now, not to bad. (knocks on wood)

It looks like something has been attached to the file, however when I download it - I don't get anything like that? Could you run malwarebytes please :)

Did you use Avira?
I've done full scans with Avira and Malwarebytes after clearing any restore points.
Avira was run in safe mode.

It did detect a couple of adware stuff, but not this virus.
Yet every time I try to run the app it starts to open and then closes down and then Avira pops up with the message that it blocked the virus and the subsequent move to quarantine.

I've deleted it and downloaded it again with the same result.

Anytime is fine, but the change will happen in 24 hours. You may want to enjoy the Business product for as long as possible before you change - or vice versa, whichever works best for you. You'll only be charged pro-rata if you move to a higher value product.

Gees, that's back to where it should be - and I'm sure eventually we can still do even better.

I know we're definitely improving now that our latest batch of trainees hit the call centre. When the next batch lands after training, I think I'll be breathing a rather large sigh of relief :)
