Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt3)

Speaking of Helkom, I've been getting a lot of small down times, usually last around 5 minutes give or take but it's so recurrent now that it's getting annoying.

Could it be a problem on my line?

Please assist as I transfered my line to you guys. I don't want to fight with Helkom if I can avoid it.

<conspiracy> The crap is ddos'd out of the mtn network since about the time of the ios update last year. a huge chunk of afrihost's capacity is flowing down the drain with the ddos. </conspiracy>

Could be line related, is there any noise on the voice line that you're noticing?
Drop me a PM with your line number in the mean time, I'll run through the logs and see where these connections drops are coming from.

I really do wish it was something this simple. And I say this without any intentions of jinxing anything, so please don't DDoS us now :P

Unless Apple are doing the DDoS? We'll have to allow Android only clients ;)

Did someone trip over a cable or spill coffee on something? Internet suddenly died on my end, no browsing or anything else.

I know that is some bad congestion but everything else looks a lot worse. :(

I think my internet just half died. Almost no throughput and local latency is 400ms.

There is something wrong at the moment, looks like a southern region issue as all the reports I've seen so far are either WC or EC.

Evening all

I think I jinxed it earlier, my bad :(
We're investigating high latency being seen in the South Region. As soon as I have more feedback on this I'll have it posted up.

It's not only Afrihost. IS account perform the same, just tried it... almost kicked my router until I read this.

Why is it always the Southern region? Clearly this is an ongoing issue that needs to be investigated further because it seems like its every other week that this happens.

Jeebus I'd say.

Pings over 700 average ATM.

Glad it has been been noted and being worked on.
