I can't remember the last time I was shaped so badly. I am almost sure that I have been shaped for the entire month. I guess I'm an abuser seeing that I never pull more that 65 GB of data and rarely touch 80 GB (when no shaping).

I switched to capped.

Went from 9kb/s P2P downloads to now at times 900kb/s. Watching NBA.com vids this morning and a few film trailers, everything is streaming perfectly whereas for weeks my browsing and streaming and skype have been very poor. The experience could not be more different.

I'd say uncapped was like a 2 out of 10 product since the Xmas holidays. And capped, if it keeps this up, is 10 out of 10. Especially considering it's R100 cheaper. When the 75+75 kicks in from April I will be in heaven.

If you rarely touch 80gb a month, surely the 100gb capped option would be better for you?
 
I am seriously considering switching to 75Gb capped next month. Does the 75+75 only kick in then? Is it 75+75 all day or is it split between day and night. Today my p2p is averaging about 120.

Yes it kicks in next month and yes it is anytime data. The double data offer currently only applies to non bundled clients :)
 
I had to go to capped as the uncapped products are shaped to death. The shaping is to intense

I'm guessing that even though my router supports 24Mbps, It still won't work with 20Mb VDSL as it uses ADSL2+? I can't seem to find many VDSL routers on the market?
 
Wow, some of the afrihost support are either reading impaired or just lazy. I send through a support ticket, stating a week after telkom "fixed" our phone line, i am now only syncing at half of what i should, and that my line stats are terrible, i even sent through screenshots of the stats. I also stated that our PHONE line is dead.

I get a reply this morning saying, your connection has been stable since 8pm last night. WHAT, did you just ignore everything i sent?? Can you not see i should be syncing at 4mb and am only syncing at 2mb? Oh yea i also asked how i go about getting a refund for the last month of no service/half service, completely ignored that.
 
Shapping

This shaping are getting are getting out of hand know think its time to get an other SP it only goes well in the first 2 months then it takes an plunge.
