I think whenever I post Afriman expects the worst. :D

Even in Durbanbille I have decent speed/latency tonight.

I haven't had any issues lately, with IS (OpenWeb). Hope it stays that way *touch wood*

If I send through verification now, is there a chance that it can be activated tonight still? Applied for 4mb uncapped, as I am pulling my hair out at the moment ;-(

Oh yay, i just used up 500mb of prepaid WebAfrica bandwidth because I didn't realise I was still connected with that account instead of my sometimes working Afrihost account :( :mad: Seriously kicking myself now and blaming the interweb gods!!! :wtf:
 
I think my problem is two fold; congested Telkom Exchange (as per Mweb) and well:

Perhaps something on Mweb's network (don't want to speculate) but since changing to Afrihost its running a million times better
 
Ok so now, having griped about slow night time speeds, it's suddenly back up to > 3mbps... and it's dark outside!! Great stuff, and hopefully it can stay like this - this shows that it is possible.

Is there someway to see what the transfer speeds are from specific websites?
This is just starting to get on my nerves... Before the move to MTN, i had decent internet and my router wasn't turned off, disconnected or whatsoever for weeks at a time. About the only times I'd lose connection was when the power cut out or something like that.
Speeds were ALWAYS great until we got throttled, but we had consistent speeds day in and day out.
Since the move, I cannot recall once that I went 48 hours without some problem. The last few weeks it's just gotten worse. I'm having problems every single day. I can almost count on my hands the amount of times a actually got 4 mbps for a few consecutive hours. Problem with it is, the acceptable transfer rates always come at times I pretty much need to get ready to go to sleep.

I tried logging into round about 7pm tonight and it took 40,6 seconds to log in. Tried just now and it's consistently in the 14-16 seconds range.
Yes i know about the outage and stuff, but this isn't the first time. There have been many times that it's been even worse.

I almost gave up hitting the refresh button on speedtest.net
When it finally loaded, this was the result

Youtube is just getting worse. Over the past few weeks i've been getting more and more buffering as the days go by. Tonight I'm down to 240p videos if I don't want any buffering?!

Http downloads are about never over 1.5mbps. The only recent downloads that were really fast are the recent Battlefield updates.

Playing Battlefield has been getting crappier.

I just really don't recall a single thing has improved for us in the last month.

I thought the move to MTN was suppose to provide more capacity, etc, etc. Then there's the unshaped thing of a few days ago.

Post the results from a tracert to www.google.co.za when your connection is slow, your latency seems way too high

Well thank goodness I got this account for R1, international access is VERY slow, doing the mybb Speedtest, 0.14mbps, is the speed that I am getting now, not gonna bother to do a local test cause I know it works.
