Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

very interested in this account how is the ping to eu game servers like lol? diablo 3?getting like 194-220 on my mweb account atm and how are torrents ?sent in my mweb cancelations today keen to move to afrihost 4meg

So far, they're saying that routing is fine and they are happy with the ping results. But if they continue to rise, please let me know so we can escalate this higher up the chain.
 
So today and yesterday was a great couple days for me. Not only did I order my line upgrade from Telkom finally. From 1Mbps to 4Mbps, their stupid website showed that my number can only support 1Mbps. Finally got hold of someone at the call center who knew what they had to do to check the real line speed upgrade options.
In less than 24 hours, I have a 4Mbps line. Kudos to Telkom for such a quick turn around time, now just fix that website.

Signed up for the Afrihost 4Mbps bundle and got my account activated in about 15 minutes or less.

Tested a few things already and must say, kicking ass.
Playing a Browser based MMORPG "Drakensang Online" on a European Server with only 220ms ping. AWESOME
Played QuakeLive with what looked like LAN speed. Didn't check the ping.
Streamed Youtube video at 720p at faster speed then I could watch it.
Downloaded a newsbin at 360KBps. One that said none by IS cache.
Downloaded Afrihost MyBandwidth iPhone App from the AppStore on my phone via WiFi in about 3-4 seconds.
Must say, I'm blown away by the speed. Just hope it will stay this good for the years to come.

Excellent Product at a more than excellent price. Costing me R200 more a month, for 4x more speed. Easily recommendable.

Yes, as long as it's a new product signup (not an upgrade) you can enter your existing ClientZone details and still get the discount. You can give me a shout if anything goes wrong ;)
 
Still getting extreme lag on Diablo 3 with afrihost uncapped 1MB, though the issue with SAT3 seems to be resolved?
 
SAT3 issue won't be resolved till sunday at the earliest.
 
Thank you, Afrihosts network status screen says all green so that is obviously false then

Small oversight on the network notice board, the message expired and went back to green.

We have restored international access to within normal range generally, but there will still be intermittent issues until SAT 3 is fully restored. We appreciate you guys bearing with us, we know it's frustrating :(
 
@afriman--is there a problem with line speed in the Crosby/Mayfair West area of JHB? my brother just signed up fro Afrihost (ditched MWEB), but is having line speed issues. Can you confirm?
 
Just signed up for the 10mb uncapped account. Initial speed tests show 8.5mb, which is more than I have ever gotten on capped accounts. Very impressed so far, even got the 50% referral discount when I signed up from the client zone! Couldn't be more happy!

The only hickup that I experienced was after waiting 45mins on the phone for help, the salesman I spoke to refused to believe that 'Afriman' exists and told me that Afrihost does not have an online rep? He also told me I was only allowed to signup for the 50% discount if another customer had referred me, and not an Afrihost person.. Poor chap seems quite ill-informed to be working at the call center. With that being said, all the other people from Afrihost that I have spoken to have been awesome!

Will provide some feed back in the days and weeks to come!

HAHAHAHA!!! Of course I exist, I'd think I'd like to get a hit of whatever that guy is smoking :D
