Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Cape Traffic has been routed back to the IPC, looks like all is back to normal. We're monitoring very closely, we're obviously concerned that there could be issues over the long weekend, so we're doing our best to pick up any potential problems as early as possible, so they can be reported to Telkom.

At this stage though, all looks good and ADSL services in CT and souther region should be back to awesome. Also Gauteng (northern) traffic should be improved as the demand from CT users goes back to their IPC.

How are things looking now?

PE back to normal :)

Speeds were good again (in JHB), then my connection to Afrihost dropped, and now speeds are down to 30kbps again.

I'm guessing the techies are fiddling!

The connection shouldn't have dropped, our guys haven't really touched the network since this morning. Drop me a PM and we'll have a look at what might have happened :(

Just wondering, are the uncapped accounts still unshaped temporarily or has than finished now?

Wow, no comments for a while. I'm taking that as a good sign.

So speeds and latencies good, I assume? :)

Probably due to the holiday break. A teamviewer session could tell me if all is well, too lazy to check just yet

I'm guessing EASSy is still not working at 100%. Because I am still stuck at 30kbps on my 4-meg uncapped. I am in Joburg.

Is there ever a time when downloads are not shaped? seems mine are permanently shaped.

Pay a bit more for a business account. 'No shaping applied' is generally all it ever says.

That 5% shaping is permanent as stated but makes no difference to my speeds. Sometimes slow as a tortoise other times like a 2Mbs should be. At the moment normal fast.
