Just a quick note to say thanks to all our loyal clients for their patience and understanding during this awful period. We know it was really frustrating and we can understand that many came close to cancelling (and some did). We expect things to return to normal very soon. Since the CPT IPC upgrade was actually ahead of schedule (according to IS) we're hoping that JHB will follow really soon, and we can all get back to happy joy joy feelings.

Again, I know I've said this a few times, when we move to MTN soon, we'll have LOTS more IPC's and IPC capacity, so we will have a lot more options to work with when we experience issues like this. We will also have more direct control to put interim measures in place to relieve congestion so that it's a lot more bearable.

My personal sincere thanks again to all who supported and believed in us, and equally sincere apologies to same (and those who decided not to stick it out). Let's hope it's all Shibby from here :)

I'm back to 620KB/sec on international nntp... Joburg.. :)

AH have proven themselves to be the most mendacious ISP out there. I will never believe a word they say ever again. Oh, and cancelled...

I don't know what mendacious means (I suppose I should Google it), but I'm assuming it's bad :(

We have done our very best to keep our clients informed and updated, and we have not made any false accusations or claims that I am aware of. However, it is your opinion and your right to choose.

Sorry you decided to leave us, but wish you all the best :)

Speeds are slightly better than they were but not as good as they were before the issue. I'm only managing max 300KBps now on newservers whereas before I would get full speed and then limit it myself to 350KBps.

Only done about 100gig for the entire month which is well below what is regarded as the throttle barrier according to what I've read in this thread. Will check over the weekend if it improves and decide on Monday whether I should cancel or not.

Yip and you tested that at like 11:45PM

Actually, I had been downloading all day yesterday, and my download speed had remained more or less constant. 5.5GB downloaded yesterday, which comes out to an average of 66.7kB/s for the day.

eish Afriman, thanks for all your efforts, but how do you survive in an environment with such clueless and incompetent support staff i see everyone complain about?

riiiiiiight, so now Mao from Afrihost support tells me the bad speeds I had in September was due to me being throttled for going over my usage limit? 128gb in august, and that the whole IS issue only started on the 20th of september?

I dont mind if i was being punished for being a bad boy, but this is 20 emails and 10+ engineers later...
2mb uncapped account here.

What is the actual usage limit for 4mbps uncapped? Does anyone know?

Just signed up and do not want to be throttled.
