Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Ok....so if move has been away from throttling why did the last guy from ypur HD that i spoke to tell me that users who DL between 60-100GB per month are grouped nd they are then shaped? Any which way u look at it...shaping.....throttling, boils down to the same thing....a slow connection. Right? Wrong?

So how do deal with abusers? How are they identified? What policies are imposed nd why are they not account specific? I'v allegedly been using nd now in the naughty corner cos there is some SEVERE shaping on my account. My question is, how long do i remain there? If indefinite, it defeats the purpose because u cannot monitor the account nd u lose a client.

Torrents aren't the only thing in the toilet, i don't think its unreasonable of me to state that the entire service is in the toilet at the moment.

I want to move from Telkom to Afrihost, whilst i love dealing with Telkom's incompetent technical support as well as their inefficient accounts department I think it is time i moved.

Therefore please advise if Afrihost can do the switch on my behalf. Im currently on 4mbps uncapped and want to move to Afrihosts 10mpbs uncapped.

Ok having read the last couple of previous posts im now feeling a bit reluctant to make the switch.

How many ppl experienced those shocking download speeds?

Downloaded at 6 in the morning, dont think anyone has complained about the service at this time of the day :erm: .

People seem to be complaining in general. My experience in general is good.

Fair enough , interesting to hear that others have no issues. It makes me wonder how much is down to network capacity and how much is down to to network management if there is such a varying performance across the board.
 
So basically, going for the smallest isp with least amount of subscribers and your downloads will rock....I am understanding this correctly?

No , my suggestion to you is try obtaining trial accounts from the major isps and test them out. See which one suits your needs the most and go with that one.

When my parent's were still with Afrihost, between 1am-7/8am they got full speed. After 8-9am went to 15kb/s.

But like afriman said.. some people were doing 2Tb p/m, yet my parents/brother couldn't do more than 15 kb/s during the day. (And parent's did about 20gig per month)

Yeah most of my downloads happen at full speed as well.
During the night (after 23:00) and early in the morning (before 9) everything flies.

At the moment though I am downloading at 15kBs and this is not just p2p or nzbs this is all downloads so I can understand why people have an issue with it.
 
How I see usage for previous month on clientzone? It only shows current. I also see that clientzone has been revamped
