Which goes exactly opposite to what Afriman has said about throttling/thresholds. Are you saying he is lying?

Guys please help me because I'm seriously thinking about moving to Mweb.

I signed up for a 2mb uncapped bundle in December, I downloaded ~70GB that month (Honey moon phase). Great speeds, was most impressed.
This month I noticed my download speeds are terrible, I mean worse than when I was on 384 line.

Is this normal? Have I downloaded too much?

Highly doubt you downloaded too much, just run through the last 2-3 pages of this thread, alot of us had or is still having issues.

Wait for the new IPC to come in. I reckon it will make a massive difference.

80gigs is my total for the month so far (largely due to the large number of games bought from Steam during the Christmas sale), and I'm being throttled to ****e on almost everything except, bizarrely, Steam downloads.

Here's my Speedtest on a 4mb line to London:

And here's the same test through Steam's integrated browser in Big Picture mode:

Most of the sites I'm loading through Firefox I'm getting 20-30kb/s. Steam? 200-400kb/s, at least according to NetLimiter

PRO TIP: Try Steam's browser and see if it makes a difference.

If 592GB is fifth place out of all 10Mbps Afrihost customers, something tells me getting there is quite a mission. I can get to 500GB without much trouble on Mweb's 4Mbps uncapped account.

I've done 210 gigs so far this month, had to redownload my steam library after a HDD crash :/

anyway, if i torrent it always seems to be between 300k - 500k, any time of day. So i dont know how the QoS works :P

Nor do I. I've had torrents running at 400kbps but cannot download a 50MB service pack from Microsoft. Somehow http/port 80 downloads are given very low priority by the QoS config.
