Next step is to get Durban IPC sorted, which will also add overall capacity, and take even more traffic off JHB and CT. Things should be pretty awesome then, and we'll make sure you guys get the max benefit.

Is it just that there are no local team fortress games being hosted or what, all Tf2 servers show around 240ms for me, except some idle servers local at 50ms and afrihost Mvm server and occasionally I can see mweb or Is rocking the vote servers
 
Please give me some speed to bbc.co.uk as i can't watch any shows due to buffering / insufficient bandwidth message coming up. It was working great a few days ago but something is borked.

You can have all the IPC in world but if you can't watch a YouTube video without it buffering on a 4mb line it's a fail!

Afriman why should YouTube still be buffering so much? Never had this issue when afrihost was on IS

I don't know enough to speculate why, but I get much better and consistent Youtube performance if I manually set the DNS servers on my connection to Google's...
 
Had problems yesterday with YouTube streaming 720p & 1080p, but now it is fine, well so it seems.
 
Wow finally after 10min I am able to get into this thread. Everything shows normal tracerts, speed run, but for some reason browsing is super slow. Anyone else having the same problem?

I'm glad it's not just me having issues. Browsing hasn't been too bad but I tried downloading a ~16MB msu from MS & my average speed is currently reading at --- 0kbkps. Seriously -it's not doing a damn thing.
I don't know what's up with Afrihost, but I've had a seriously crap experience the last couple of weeks.

Edit - the 16MB file just finished downloading. It *only* took 29 minutes on a 1MB uncapped line. Come Afrihost, how is that in any way acceptable?

me too! I can barely browse, took me 5 minutes to get to this thread and hopefully this even posts, and downloads just time out. 0 bytes/s ?!?!?!

It was great for one day and now its way worse than ever before. Whats going on??
 
Still getting quite a lot of disconnects when playing online :( 2 in the last 10 minutes.

I spent two weeks exchanging emails with Afrihost support, before they finally called me & told me that given that it was downloads, not real time traffic it was just the way the system works & those are the speeds I can expect. I was averaging around 25kbps at the time, so I have to wonder - how the hell do people on Afrihost's leaderboard download +200GB on a 1MB line? I don't even manage to get to half that.

When trying to downloading a 1.7GB update on Origin tells you it's going to take 58 days to complete, something is seriously screwed up.
