Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Good morning Afriman.
Do you give test accounts?
Just got my 10 Mb line installed.
Would love to test the "new" Afrihost unshaped account.

2 Days since the Durban IPC went up, and these are my observations so far.

I've run several SpeedTest/TestMy.net tests and all have shown a marked improvement on International latency and speed side of things. I'm hitting 3.8Mbs to the FidoNet server in the UK with SpeedTest and TestMy.net has show's an average of 3.9Mbs... All protocols (yes P2P included) are getting full line speed all the time now! :) This makes me happy :D

Will your network remain unshapped? If this is so I will move in a heart beat from MWEB!

Really want to know if this is true or what the catch is?

I don't need to download the internet but use Spotify, Youtube, Netflix, Hulu a lot! So unshapped would help
 
I honestly believe this "unshaped" news isnt really true..

IF it were - Alot more people would be posting being all "omgwtfbbq11oneone My speeds are unshapedzor" "WTP Afrihost I <3 u"
 
Afrihost is confident that their additional capacity will more than handle the additional traffic, and after a week has passed they will re-assess their current shaping policies.

FFS trying to deceive the public are we?

Didn't notice a difference since the shaping has never actually slowed anything of mine down

Is this a qoute from afrihost?

I wouldnt jump on the Afrihost wagon unless they publicly say that they will not shape your account after this "unshaping policy" as they are so nice to advertize.

Thats something that would make me furious - If say i were less knowledgeable about ISP's / ADSL and i was like "oh cool this is best ISP" then few months down the line - shaped.

Wow... Afrihost can never be legitimately honest with clients it may seem.

First the whole debacle with free gifts (30gb data) 4 days before the end of the month with no roll-over
Now saying "HEY WE UNSHAPED!!! - maybe lets see"

People will fall for that.. i dont like that

I can't tell you how disgusted I am at that! Makes me sick to my stomach!

Gotta agree with you... They should know better and understand doing that is long term hurting their business

As a potential new client. How long will the products be unshaped for
 
I don't know where you guys get this -unshaped policy-

The ads say un-throttled, that has nothing to do with shaping- QOS is still applied on all uncapped accounts and certain protocols will get shaped by the QOS if the network experience congestion.

Only capped accounts are unshaped.
