Afrihost Uncapped and 384k

Next month (july) I`l be going home for the holidays :D
So I`l be bumping up my cap too

I currently have a 384k line
I`l get 35GB for R299 or 'Home' Uncapped for R177/R197

I`ve heard that telkom is going to bump speeds to 1mbps
If this is the case then Uncapped would be a lot better value for money?

1.Should I take the gamble on the 1mbps upgrade and get uncapped?

2.Also how is their fair usage policy?
I`m intending to download 50-60gb on uncapped over a period of +-2 weeks if I take that route
downloads will be mixed Http and torrents with a fair bit of steam/origin

3.Speed? Anything faster than 40kb/s and I`m happy :p
Have a dedicated download machine running 24/7 so time Isn't an issue

4.I am in the process of transfering my adsl line to afrihost.
Will I still get the 1mbps upgrade?

Won`t game online so pings aren`t an issue either

I'm confused... If you get the 35gB cap how are you gonna download 50-60gB?? To me uncapped seems the obvious choice, although not sure about Afrihosts shaping if it will allow you to get that much in two weeks. The 1mbps thing is gonna happen the when is just the problem, oh and you're never gonna get over 40kB/s on a 384 line...

I`m going to get a 35gb cap OR 1mbps uncapped
so I`l dl 35gb only and maybe buy some if I don`t get uncapped

yeah 40kB/s is the max on 384k

What I mean is
Theoretically :
I get 1mbps from telkom and 1mbps uncapped from afrihost.
I download xyz amount.
I get throttled.What I want to know is if my 'throttled speed' will be faster than 40kB/s

AND/OR

I get 1mbps from telkom and 1mbps uncapped from afrihost.
If torrents and downloads are shaped.Will they be faster than 40kB/s?

Aha, just had to tap the light bulb a bit... I'm on a 1meg line with Mweb and pulled 120GB over the last 30 days(more in the past but Mweb was a bit wonky for a few weeks) and I would think Afrihosts shaping would be similar so you should pull your 50gigs on a 1meg line. Just have a read on their AUP and see if they throttle or shape though...

You can easily do 120Gb before throttling, so you can probably safely do significantly more, on a 1Mb uncapped. On a 384, you'll also clear 50GB without being throttled.

On our new uncapped, we don't throttle below 320kbps. On a decent line, you should be getting at least 200Kbps+.
