So when does Afrihost Plan to drop the data prices. As Zuma stated: "We assure the youth, data prices will drop"
Basically Afrihost isn't the way to go anymore anyway -

I get much better deals elsewhere like for example: (Afrihost cheapest option: 40GB for R1086 (R27/GB))

1. Cell C's GIGA packages which lasts 12 Months - 100GB for R1499 (R15/GB) and 200GB for R1999 (R10/GB)
2. MTN promotion still on with it's 50GB promo per month which includes a LG G4 as the cheapest package for under R500/month (Might as well sell the phone and use the cash to buy lots of popcorn, cause 50GB getting you a few shows on Netflix)
3. Telkom Mobile even

It's sad for Afrihost....and us..... but true

Actually managed to get a Samsung Z2 on that mtn deal for R219 , the p8 lite was R269 and P9 lite R349

That's correct @AadilG. I managed to get 5 x of them without any device. Then they brought in the devices. So I also took another 5 x with the Samsung Z2 running Tyzon and not Android but I didn't care. And now the cheapest package is with the LG G4. So it's still running.

I signed up for the mtn 50 gb deal.
Now i can't get the data out of mtn.
Many e-mails and phone calls later, and still struggling.
Never again !

Either that person at MTN who handled your contract didn't do their job or in my friends case didn't provide all that is needed on that specific day to the MTN representative handling his contract to take out the contract in time.
Was easier if you already had a contract with MTN for the promo to be approved.
Anyway, good luck @mattb006

Morning eagle2k. :) We're definitely doing our part to try and fight the good fight regarding Mobile Data pricing. :) In fact, when you look at the lower spectrum of Mobile packages we offer, we are some of the most affordable out there. I'm not sure if you were around when we were pushing the #DataForAll campaign where we offered free 250MB to everyone who signed up?

With that being said, I understand that you are referring to larger Mobile packages or even Uncapped LTE which we don't offer at this time. This is, unfortunately a bit harder for us seeing as we are still resellers of MTN. The more data you buy, the more expensive it gets and at this point, we're not interested in attaching any FUP to our larger Mobile data packages in order to be able to bring down the cost.

I personally believe that our smaller Mobile packages are excellent value for money and are mainly geared towards people who need the data on their smart devices to tie them over for the month, but with that being said, Mobile data prices WILL continue to drop and we'll definitely do our best to be the first to adopt any major changes that the market might see in the future. :)
