I just saw the picture of the question using the link provided in Post #11. I can see how such a mistake could occur and doubt that it was intentionally. This incident should not be used to try to promote a political or ideological agenda.

Ngwe23 making the most sense in this thread. Are you telling me that the lecturer didnt proof read the paper before printing it out?
Your logic is lacking.
Cosatu describes UFS test paper incident as ‘naked racism’
"Cosatu Free State has learned with horror the news that some students were discovered having two sets of audit module question papers at the University of the Free State. What is outlandish and unacceptable is the fact that the Afrikaans paper had answers and the English version did not have answers‚" the union said.
The union has labelled this incident as racist.
“This is naked racism‚ which must be fought and defeated once and for all. This is how these white institutions promote white supremacy through cheating‚ and keep Africans outside the strategic sectors of the economy of the country. We are calling for a serious investigation of this incident.”
Ooh, you naive poor little soul. Why was the lecturer good as doing his/her job while compiling the English paper and suddenly became "lazy/bad" when compiling the Afrikaans paper?

The narrative has been set in stone.

The paper was assessed and moderated, but the paper was called on to be revised where the lecturer made a mistake by not removing the guideline to one question on one paper. You do not even have to bring language into this argument, it is outright silly. Obviously the revised paper was not properly moderated which comes down to human incompetence than your splurged on racism. I am astounded at how this human made error is generalised as outright racism and by promoting white supremacy.
Reading on by various comments made, it seems that the test was continued and that the points would had been automatically rewarded to those writing the English paper. Going by this, the marks would had been amended.
Okay let's assume this was not intentional. Why did afrikaans students not report this?
Are afrikaans people too stupid to learn in English?
If not then English all the way for the future.
My problem with 2 question papers of different languages is that some people fail a question because they didn't understand it. The problem here is that the phrasing of words in questions also is important.
Again I ask. Are afrikaans natives scared of English papers?

Well it's not confirmed yet but it's 1 of many why we should do away with afrikaans.
Shoo you are as "insightful" as ngwe23.

2. Runé Jordan’s conduct
At today’s 8 o’clock Auditing class, the program director as well as the lecturer took time out to explain the ‘mistake’that had occurred to students. They reassured us that there is no favouritism that exists in the UFS Centre for Accounting and all students are treated equally. When students contested their argument, they were met with disregard and intellectual insults. Her response to the question on how 3 people make the same mistake was as follows, “I don’t know what you expect me to say, if you guys had taken the 5 marks all this would be over and done with”. This points directly to a arrogantly racist perception by settlers that they can treat us like **** and tell us to get over it. This was caused by the rainbow nation dream that was preached by Mandela which granted unwanted and undeserved forgiveness to racist settler barbarians and allow them to continue raping our lands and our people. This event gave settlers the ability to think that because they are the beneficiaries of an unjust system built by their ancestors, on the backs of ours, they are somehow superior to other races. This mentality is preserved in today’s society and is the direct cause of the white arrogance we are subjected to in UFS. Like most settlers, Miss Jordan suffers from the disease of subliminal racism and is therefore a doubt-able candidate to lecture black students.
Another event that occured in the class after I had left proves the claim I am making. Siyanda Rixana narrates:
“So the auditing lecturer who set a paper that gave the afrikaans people the answers sends a black child to her car and when he comes back she says thank god you didn’t steal my car.
I’m sorry this might have been a joke for her to say this but to me if shows that she sees black people as thieves so I’m not sure if what she did yesterday was a mistake as she claims.”
This one shows you that Rune Jordan subscribes to racist settler perpetuated stereotypes against black people. It is difficult to imagine that as black students sit in class and attempt to pursue academic excellence, their lecturers see a group of thieves.
Lol @ taken the 5 marks.
From my experience, if there is an error the question gets amended or scrapped. You don't get awarded the marks. Why? Would you suggest them not take the marks? It is an amendment, nothing to lol about.
