Airbus crashes into Hudson River

Terrible news :(

Amazing scenes. The front of plane is bobbing up and down in the water it's front door open :eek:. They say there are survivors thankfully

Yes terrible, just last night I watched "Passengers", oh my goodness, the feeling as that plane must go down... :eek:

Looks like 135 passengers on board, looks like most are still alive

New York - A US Airways plane has crashed into the Hudson River, sending passengers fleeing for safety in the frigid waters.

New York City firefighters are responding to the accident. It was not immediately clear if there were injuries.

"I just thought, 'Why is it so low?' And, splash, it hit the water," said witness Barbara Sambriski, a researcher at The Associated Press.

Wow just seen a pic of the plane on the surface of the water and passengers standing one the wings in long lines :eek: :eek:
 
Landing in the Hudson meant he must have flown over Manhattan - things could have been so much worse.
 
Nice thanks Kiepie, just flipped now onto Fox News. Seems there were no casualties..what caused it??

Suspected birdstrike disabled both engines about 3 mins after takeoff and landed in the freezing Hudson River in one piece. This is a remarkable water landing, which is extremely dangerous at the best of times. If all 146 passengers get out alive, this will be talked about for years to come. Truly amazing!

My GF was worried for a sec, because her boss is in USA and supposedly going to Washington via plane, but ya, it was not this place...
 
Amazing! And all passengers and crew are safe. My hats off to the pilot who managed to bring it down on water and save everyones lives.
 
That pilot/captain is a hero! He waited on board and checked the plane twice to see that everyone was off. He owns a flight safety training and consulting company.
 
KFM this morning reporting the plane as a Boeing A320 :rolleyes:
